Monday, February 11

• At 7:10 a.m., "Charlie, Ernie & Lisa" host Baylen Linnekin, the founder of KeepFoodLegal.org discussing the state's proposal to tax sugar-sweetened drinks. On WVMT 620 AM.
• At 7:30 a.m., the Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce and Greater Burlington Industrial Corp. hold a legislative breakfast at the Sheraton on Burlington. On the menu: Burlington Mayor Miro Weinberger and Lt. Gov. Phil Scott.
• At 12:30 p.m., Gov. Peter Shumlin speaks at the Addison County Legislative Luncheon at the Bristol American Legion. Break-open tickets for everyone!
• At 7 p.m., the Burlington City Council meets to take up, among other business, a new and expanded no-trespass ordinance to kick troublemakers off Church Street.

Tuesday, February 12

• At 7:10 a.m., Rep. Michele Consejo (D-Sheldon) is the guest on "Charlie, Ernie & Lisa." Burlington Business Association executive director Kelly Devine follows at 8:40 a.m.
• The Senate is set to take two critical votes on right-to-die legislation this week, also known as "death with dignity" and physician-assisted suicide. The first is tentatively scheduled for 9:30 a.m. today (subject to change).
• At 3 p.m., Lt. Gov. Scott hosts a delegation of Red Sox broadcasters and staff in a meet-and-greet in the Statehouse. The public is welcome.
• At 6 p.m., Champlain Housing Trust hosts a free advocacy workshop for anyone interested in learning how to influence lawmaking. Rep. Jill Krowinski (D-Burlington) is the guest.
• At 7:30 p.m., members of the state's tech sector gather at ECHO Science Center and Lake Aquarium in Burlington to watch the president's State of the Union address, and talk about the State of the Tech Agenda in Vermont. Wednesday, February 13

• At 9 a.m., the Senate Judiciary Committee in Montpelier takes another crack at legislation to reform Vermont's notoriously opaque public records law.
• At 9:30 a.m., U.S. Sen. Patrick Leahy's Senate Judiciary Committee holds a hearing on the topic du jour, comprehensive immigration reform. Webcast here.
• Between F-35s and the firing of Sandy Miller, South Burlington's city council races are shaping up as ones to watch this March. Today, Channel 17 hosts live debates for two council races. At 5:25, it's incumbent Paul Engel and challenger Pat Nowak. And at 6:05, it's incumbent Sandra Dooley and challenger Chris Shaw. Watch live.

Thursday, February 14

• At 9 a.m., the House and Senate natural resource committees hold a joint hearing on climate change legislation at the Pavillion Auditorium.  
• At 11:30 a.m., Gov. Shumlin's weekly press conference is back in the Pavillion Building after a long absence.
• At 1 p.m., the state Senate is tentatively scheduled to take the second — and final — vote on right-to-die legislation.
• At 5 p.m., lawyers for accused killer Michael Jacques are due in U.S. District Court in Burlington for yet another status conference in his death penalty trial, now set to begin in September.

Friday, February 15

• At 9:30 a.m., Gov. Shumlin is on the "The Mark Johnson Show" on 96.1 WDEV FM.
• At 1:30 p.m., the Senate Government Operations Committee takes up professional regulation of law enforcement officers — law enforcement is not currently among the dozens of professions regulated by the state.
• As always, get your VT politics fix with Stewart Ledbetter and crew on "Vermont This Week," 7:30 p.m. on Vermont Public Television.
