Re: “Casa Aguilera Trading Company

Just happened to be in St. J. this weekend and stumbled across Casa Aguilera on the way to see the Eric Aho show at Catamount Arts. The smoker parked out front was a very good sign. Anyway, we had an absolutely superb lunch of brisket tacos along with the wicked maple bacon wrapped jalapeño poppers. St. J. is a pretty good drive from my house, but I'll be returning as often as possible when I'm jonesing for actual Mexican food — easily the most authentic Mexican restaurant in the state.

Re: “Shy Guy Gelato

Great gelato ! Cute little shop, and had a wonderful conversation with one of the owners! We had chocolate gelato combined with mango sorbet; the chocolate was decadent and should satisfy any chocoholic, the mango sorbet was refreshing and flavorful! Looking forward to another visit !!

Re: “Kingdom Crust Co.

I love the new food and choices. Love that they are supporting local farms and are very conciencious of what is being used in the food they prepare so we are all healthier. Keep up the good work Mr. Heath.

Re: “ABC Café & Pub

The blues jams, first Wednesday of each month, are really amazing. Who would have known there are so many talented blues musicians in Vermont!

Re: “Burton Island State Park

As far as "schlepping" stuff: the park offers the assistance of a gear delivery service in and out. For $10, no schlepping required. They'll even load your wood up for you to deliver with your things.

Re: “Trattoria Delia

Great place for a date! My fiance and I had dinner at the bar for our "date night". A lot of fun, great service and food. One constructive criticism however, not a lot of meat dishes. Just veal, rabbit (no thanks) and one steak option. Would like to see one chicken and one pork dish added to the entrees. We have eaten here many times, quality of food and of service is always consistently high.

Re: “Erica's American Diner

The Country Pantry is sadly long gone and sorely missed and we've only eaten once during the next 4 owners but today 7/18/16 my wife and I decided to "give Erica's a try". My rating reflects the awesome breakfasts we were served. I had home made corned beef and hash with eggs. The hash was NOT out of a can but personally prepared by Ron, the owner, and it was remarkable. My wife had the eggs with sausage and sausage biscuit gravy and a "Mimosa". I tried hers also and it was nearly a fight. I plan on working my way through the menu. BTW - I'm 70 years old and have NEVER posted a review of ANYTHING in my life, so I'd say this must have gotten my attention.

Re: “Gaku Ramen

Visited for lunch last week. Ordered the tonkatsu ramen...was disappointed in the broth I expected a deep, rich pork broth, but found what I was served as shallow, and perhaps too miso-ie, my egg was overcooked and the chashu pork lacked flavor. Not what I was led to believe I'd find here.

Also, while they advertise as an ideal spot for a cheap meal, we had the cucumber salad, i Fiddlehead, a cup of tea and two ramens and the bill was $36. 'nuff said.

So I heard you own an Ice cream scoop place right next door. What is that place called again?

Re: “Red Square

No bar has been more welcome to musicians on a consistent level through all months of the year, including the middle of Febuary. Management handles in a professional manner, they take no crap from bad customers. I feel the bartenders for the most part are wonderful. First rate sound engineer and wonderful upgrades make this a perfect place to drink , meet and listen. You would miss it if wasn't here !

Re: “Sandy's Books & Bakery

Our home away from home. The best everything!!!!! Best soups, best bagels, best breakfast....if she served dinner we would be there for that too. The vibe in this funky, loving "community center" is warm compassionate and electric while being stimulating and soothing!!!! Sound impossible? Just visit, spend some time. Join in the conversation. There is always some sort of chatter or curl up with a latte and a good book. See you there.

Re: “Waterworks Food + Drink

Had a pleasant lunch the other day out on the deck. Service was attentive and prompt. I noticed the 2% surcharge for the back of the house which I have no problem with. I must say the french fries were outstanding!

Re: “Gaku Ramen

Great decor. Pork buns were delicious. Fish ramen bowl was good, but very, very salty and I love salt. I will give it another try, but was really hoping for a better balance of flavors.
