Re: “Sotto Enoteca

My wife and I have gone for a romantic evening and we have also enjoyed family birthday celebration dinner:

Consistently great meals: the best app - Antipasti tray; entrees - fish specials, amazing steaks; and the best Tiramisu I have ever had (one serving is for at least 2 people, but 4 would be satisfied). Authentic Italian wine list and the server has made several great pairings.

Re: “Pascolo Ristorante

My fiance and I were looking for a place to celebrate some good news and I'm glad we chose Pascolo. The atmosphere is cool and romantic, and we were seated in a semicircular booth right in front of a window where you can see a woman making their fresh pasta. I got the Frutti di Mare and asked to substitute the spaghetti for the pappardelle pasta that they make in house. I'm glad I made the substitution because it was delicious! I highly recommend this dish to seafood lovers. Their fried mozzarella was wonderfully seasoned and my fiance's chicken parm was also very yummy. It was an expensive meal but perfect for a special occasion. Service was excellent as well.

Re: “Carriage House Café & Grill

Good fresh food, with a nice variety on the menu. They care about the customer. All waitstaff are attentive and friendly. The Decor is tastefully done and feels very cozy. The prices are very reasonable and just a nice place to go.

Re: “Nectar's

Nectar's is that place to play my music and a place to dance until I drop to all the amazing, mesmerizing talent that graces the stage. Also, stabbed food it kinda cool & totally common sense. Also Damon Brink is a Lord of Thunder and Sparkles.

We have never had any problem with food or service at Donnys the food is always awesome ! When I call for delivery they are always curious and polite even when I'm ordering my "special" salad lol with my extra tomatoes and cucumbers and lots of pickles with two ranch dressings always get what I want and they deliver in pretty good time too. I've really never been disappointed !! Love this place !!!!

Re: “Bohemian Bakery

A close friend of mine is a Pastry Chef, as well as an instructor at the New England Culinary Institute. When she tells me that a place has "the best pastries," I listen intently. I grew up in Vermont, and like many musicians, I've worked as a Barista more times than I care to say.

Upon arriving, you pull into the driveway of an old unassuming farmhouse, which sits on property with large old trees, and muffled jazz trickling out of kitchen. The doors aren't open yet, but we're 20 minutes early, because there isn't much like pastries that have *just* come out of the oven.
When the door opens, your eyes, ears, and nose are instantly engaged. The hallway isn't long, and just wide enough to let the line of people wrap around like a bobby pin. In the back room you can see their small-scale, yet commercial grade coffee roaster, with sacks of green beans on the floor. A baker busy as a bee in the kitchen with that same Jazz now in auditory focus. We get coffee, and one of every pastry that's currently on display (five) and we're instructed that there is seating in the building next door. The Barista makes a couple of 8 oz cappuccinos with glorious respect for the crema. I carry our three coffees next door to a cute room that is adorned with what I suspect is a local artist's work.

We dive into a perfectly executed kouign aman, Cheese Danish, Almond Croissant (featuring almond and apricot), a raspberry tart, and an apple galette. At this point, I've taken a few more sips of my coffee, and begin to realize just how special this coffee is. Extracted quickly, but with care.
Even being in line is magic.

So Vermont. Much Enjoyment.

Re: “Taverna Khione

Fabulous food and wine, pumpkin fritters, lamb sausage, and fisherman's stew were divine. Service was friendly, attentive, but not intrusive. The Greek wine list was unusual, but paired perfectly with our meal. Will be back to try new things, the flavors were both simple and interesting! Such a nice departure from the usual brewpub fare of Chittenden County.
