Re: “Big Picture Theater and Café

We came here for dinner and a movie last week and loved it. The staff were all very friendly, the food was pretty darn good, and the ability to eat and drink while watching a movie was awesome!

They have a great beer selection on tap and a pretty good wine list. We each had a salad (standard salads but made with great fresh ingredients)

The Big Picture has great vibes, great people, great food and great drinks. A nice local hangout for a quick drink or the full dinner-and-a-movie date night.

Re: “Chop Shop Hair Design

I have to say since I moved back to VT two years ago I have struggled to find a hair salon that I truly trust...Chop Shop is the first salon that has competent stylists that know how to color hair appropriately without frying your hair...These stylists know what they are doing...I bounced around between multiple ppl there and was never disappointed, now I go to Alicia who can give you a city quality cut/color with a BTV price:) I will never search for a salon again! I highly reccomend going there! Don't believe the negative reviews you see online, they're posted from people that don't understand what a coloring process takes!

Re: “Heartbeet Lifesharing

A life~sharing community laced with love, beauty, inspiration and support for the families and friends that share Heartbeet as home. Biodynamic farming allows for amazing animals, gardening and lots of work for all! Daily workshops....felting, painting, forestry, farm chores, milking cows, caring for pigs, goats, chickens, ponies, to name a few. Harvesting vegetables, canning, freezing and cold storage for winter crops, keep all respectful of the gift of our precious earth and each other.
Festivals abound, acknowledging many events that have been lost with busy times.
As the parent of an adult son living at Heartbeet for ten years, I truly could not design a more appropriate lifestyle. The community is heartwarming, and open to all.
Call ahead, join in for an awesome organic meal.

Re: “Studio Place Arts

All the shows at SPA are great but my favorite every year, this one is the stonework shows. This one is, as always, beautiful. So nice to have this studio in downtown Barre. I'm going again.

Re: “Parker Pie Co.

Epic beer selection, the best pizza I've had anywhere, much less in Vermont. Great atmosphere and people. Can get crowded on busy nights, but that's just because it's so darn good.

Re: “246 Blackbird Swale Drive

Don / Valley Stage do an amazing job bringing talent to Vermont and his intimate venue in Huntington. Don't miss out on this event, and if you have kids it's a great way to enjoy an afternoon of music, dancing, food and fun.

Re: “Anjali Farms and Lotus Moon Medicinals

I recieved some of the burn salve 3 years ago as a gift from another chef and never really used it because I lost it in the back of my medicine cabinet. Yesterday I recieved 2nd degree burns to my lower neck and upper chest (thanks to hot ash and char from scraping burnt BBQ sauce off my burning hot grill). When I got home I Remebered my stash of burn Salve and started applying it immediately....today I applied it in the morning and again when I got home at night. You can't even tell that I was seriously burned! It looks like a couple flat red circles and by tomorrow I am sure they will be gone! Thank you Lini, I have no worries about scars forming! Totally awesome, I will never forget I have your burn salve again!

Great place for a wedding, an event or to just stay while you ski at Jay Peak, which is just 7 miles away! They have rooms and suites with gas-log fireplaces and jacuzzi tubs, and they're even pet-friendly!

Re: “Wayside Restaurant, Bakery & Creamery

Does my Mother work here?
I had an outstanding meat loaf lunch today with hand cut fries, peas and carrots and a role with an iced coffee to drink. The meat loaf was so good that my mom must be in the kitchen making it. Thanks for the meal and thanks for the memories. I sat a t the counter and enjoyed it all. Mom would serve it with mashed potato but who can pass up a great french fry! Re: “Claire's Restaurant & Bar

Always a delightful experience
We had been to Claire's for blunch twice before, but finally had an opportunity to enjoy dinner this past Friday with a guest from out of town. The service was wonderful - we were seated immediately, despite being early for our reservation. Cold water was on the table almost as soon as we were seated. We each ordered cocktails, and while I can only speak for my own directly, all were enjoyed. The Dark and Stormy prepared by Claire's mixologist was the best I'd ever had. Our entres included Chicken Tandoori, Pork Loin, and Trout, and each dish was both visually stunning and a delight to the palette. It's over an hours drive for us, but I can't wait to go back again. Great place for lunch!
India House is always tops on my list for a good, quick lunch. The prices are extremely reasonable and just the right amount of food. The food is very tasty and I have always had great service. Food: 5 Ambiance: 4 Service: 5

Re: “Speeder & Earl's: Pine Street

Nectar of the God's
I love speeder's on pine st. No coffee gives me my beloved clammy hands & crazy heart rate the way Speeder's does!. I actually walk past the closet version on church street on my way to the pine st one. The staff here are way hotter (hot baristas are a priority for me) and my large ice coffee is ONE WHOLE DOLLAR cheeper than on church st. I am 100% a caffeine addict but I hate the pretentious cafe/tea shops downtown. This is NEW ENGLAND not regular England if you'd rather fancy a spot of tea over a bitter steamy black cup of coffee than give my regards to the queen, wankers Food: 5 Ambiance: 5 Service: 5

Re: “Claire's Restaurant & Bar

Any Mouse ??
Someone has an axe to grind. I like to sit at the bar and have a meal or just have some beer. The people there are very nice, the food is filling and tastes good too. And so much money goes to local farms, many farmers I see at the bar or eating in the dining room. I can say that one of the bar tenders played favorites, even giving out free drinks to their friends. I never said anything to the manager, because I thought it wasn't my place, but knowing that a few "popular" people were getting served or drinking free made me leave despite that wonderful music on a Thursday night. I'm glad that bar tender got done, and now everyone is pleasant and helpful when I come in. So that's all I have to say about what Any Mouse has to say, with all her knowledge of the bar.
