Re: “The Guilty Plate Diner

It is a great place, great service. too bad a couple of whiners posted here. One apparently can not read as their policy is clearly posted, seated after all in the party arrives.
Been there so many times but can not read. Apparently not many other diners either as it is common in many diners unless seated at the Hey beatnik, not the sharpest knife eh, to update the staff that the rest of your party may not make it and get seated. .

Our second reviewer, Gerryyy is a big traveler and spender worried about using gas to drive to mallets bay. Not only that but a Ramsey want-a-be and sound engineer too. Wow...putting onions on the home fries, yup...sure you did not touch anything on your plate for 10 mins. Perhaps this is your scam to save money. You got up and walked out probably without paying and I am sure without a tip. Got to further try to insult her by describing her as stout. Guess you have not looked in the mirror lately. Save your gas money and don''t drive out to malletts bay. We locals will keep it for ourselves. And by the way, Chef Ramsey said you are a "wanker".

Re: “King's Corner Deli

unassuming, friendly people making hearty delicious affordable sandwiches. Get the Holy Mole breakfast sandwich or the Fresh Italian and you'll know what I mean. Call it in and get to work!

Re: “Hubbard's Country Store

Delicious home-baked goods and custom-made sandwiches offered in an open, country-lovely atmosphere by caring, friendly owners Jon and Sara Deering. Highly recommended. In addition, you'll find lots of food items that you need or decide on-the-spot that you need. A fun experience. Try it, you'll love it!

Re: “Brickwork Art Studios

The address "266 South Champlain Street" is misleading because the building can only be accessed from the Pine Street side! Make sure you park behind Tapna Yoga and Vermont Art Supply to access Brickwork Studios from Pine Street. I usually send people to 277 Pine Street.

Re: “First Baptist Church of Burlington

There is no excitement anywhere like a First Baptist Church chicken pie supper. Come prepared for thrills and laughs.

Re: “Treewild

Great for all ages!! This event incorporates the mystical and the real. Music playing from fields and interspersed through a wooded path, dancers on cliffs, poetry read from the trees and faerie houses that can be repaired/built and imagined are just a few things that you can expect on this 1-1.5 hour adventure. Don't worry, you will have a guide to help tell the story and lead you through a variety of ecosystems that add to the feeling that you are straddling two worlds- the "common" and the "unseen". A lot of bang for your buck! Snack, drink, and a little something extra are all included in the ticket price... a really enjoyable way to spend a fall afternoon in Vermont.

Re: “Hoagie Hut

I love this place. Its dingy, the staff is rude, the food is cheap, the portions are giant and they cater to locals. Its a classic old school sandwich shop offering no apologies to the more sensitive members of society. They make the best Philly cheesesteak in the state hands down. Its easily big enough to fill two grown adults and it cost less then ten bucks. I recommend this place to everyone I get a chance to, but the location and outside athstetic scares most of them off.

Re: “Charlie-O's World Famous

In a sentence: They run a tight ship.

Not a whole lot of nonsense and drama here. If it happens, your outta here! And there will be a discussion about you in the Wednesday staff meeting. Some leave for LIFE!

Lot's of fun, great staff and awesome pool players. You never know what type of live music is happening next. If there is none, try the jukebox, It's loaded. Corn hole, darts, pinball or watching a game; even the barflies stay engaged at Charlie O's. It's where you wanna be. So gritty that they cal the restrooms heaven and hell! Don't miss the fine cuisine!

You wanna go where everybody knows your shame.

cash bar. ATM inside.

Re: “Café Mediterano

Cafe Mediterano has the best ćevapi, rice, lamb, homemade baked breads, and baklava around. If you get any of the platters, you will leave stuffed! The ambiance is simple, but Stella is always on tap, and Barney (owner) always takes time to chat with you. I recently had a party and had it catered by Cafe Mediterano as well. Everyone that came raved about the food, everybody. Anyway, do yourself a favor and try out some of the best food in Chittenden County!

Re: “Casa Aguilera Trading Company

Just happened to be in St. J. this weekend and stumbled across Casa Aguilera on the way to see the Eric Aho show at Catamount Arts. The smoker parked out front was a very good sign. Anyway, we had an absolutely superb lunch of brisket tacos along with the wicked maple bacon wrapped jalapeño poppers. St. J. is a pretty good drive from my house, but I'll be returning as often as possible when I'm jonesing for actual Mexican food — easily the most authentic Mexican restaurant in the state.
