Re: “A 'Witch-In' Targets Trump [SIV465]

I bet not ONE of these women is a Wiccan. We. Do. Not. HEX. If we did, I'd hex these hags for defaming my religion. I resent this, and not just a little bit - and shame on you, Seven Days, for promoting this bigoted crap.

Re: “Teen Bards in the Borderlands [SIV463]

I'm 58 and wish I could go to a Bard Camp! I'd love to better my harp playing, tell musical tales, and learn the bardic arts. Plus going to Ireland .....all dreams I wish had been available when I was a teen.

Re: “Suicide Prevention Awareness Month [SIV457]

Thank you so much Cathleen. I'm so very sorry to hear about your son. It is heartbreaking how many people have been affected by suicide and depression. I hope that by talking about this more openly, perhaps more people will feel confident enough to come forward and ask for help when they are struggling. Thanks so much, wish you the best, Eva

Re: “Suicide Prevention Awareness Month [SIV457]

This story is so well done; thank you! My heart goes out to each of these families and all those who are suffering silently. I too lost a son to suicide 6 1/2 years ago. He was 19 and held all of the amazing characteristics that are described about of those who die by suicide. He had a great sense of humor, loved and cared for people, and masked his disease as well. My hope for people is that they DO talk about their loved ones, get educated about signs of suicide and then talk with your friends about it. It may save a life.
Blessings to you Eva (and to all of us that are left behind)

Re: “Tir Asleen Burlington Dagorhir [SIV440]

Like what you see? Look us up on Or come down to Oakledge Park in Burlington. Practices are Saturday 1pm, gear and training provided. Join the group and make friends; there are often impromptu sparring sessions in Battery park as well. The group is very welcoming and if you have interest, attitude and will, there is a place for you here.

Re: “Stuck Inside a Vermonter's Colon [SIV434]

Awesome PR piece on (formerly DREADed) colonoscopies!! Just breezed through one last week, and can assure you the new prep drink is truly drinkable now!! (No more salty battery acid to gag your way through---it has appropriately been taken off the market!)
Thanks for sharing the scope's imagery, Eve; I slept through my screening and was bummed that I missed watching it.

Re: “Stuck Inside a Vermonter's Colon [SIV434]

Screening can PREVENT bowel cancer. The people's "absurd presumption in their own good fortune", as Adam Smith called it (, clashes with the notion that they might have bowel/colorectal cancer. But it doesn't clash with the information that they can PREVENT cancer by removing pre-cancerous growths (polyps) during a one-hour "screening" procedure, which will also relieve any symptoms caused by the polyps. That's what you have to tell them if you want them to get "screened". Experts may argue that the need for early detection of cancer ought to be persuasive enough. But if you want to persuade people, you need to give them the information that they *actually* find persuasive -- not the information that they *ought* to find persuasive!

What a great addition to this week's animal issue! I especially like the tuba music in the beginning.

Re: “ULU Reboots at Danform [SIV423]

This is excellent news! There are no other boots out there like these and I have had a hard time finding a replacement! Thank you for bringing them back and I look forward to purchasing a new pair.

Re: “Knight's Spider Web Farm [SIV409]

We visited the Spider Web Farm this past August. Such a neat story and incredibly sweet couple. Just a unique thing to experience with the family.

Think of the revenue that Vermont could use. Legalize it.
