Re: “General Steele & Es-K, Building Bridges

Thank you so much 7days! I appreciate your support. Slight edit, one beat by Central Parks and one by Hellfire. Also features guitar by local talent Max Bronstein-Paritz. Vinyl also at Burlington Records. Thanks again for the positive words and support.

Re: “Banana Schlitz, Sports & Milk

I bought this album and think it is quite good. I'm no music expert and am not familiar with Cooley's other work, but I don't think the songs are particularly retro. This review doesn't mention All Bad News or Silver Dollars, which I think are the best songs.

Re: “Willy Lindner, Life, Still, With Mandolin

Shannon's "Starlight" always moistens my eyes, and I don't know why. Willie''s intro to the song is the definition of tasteful imaginative composition. But I thought the same thing! Where has this album been since I first heard Willie sing "Donna on Horseback" around three decades ago.

Re: “Binger, Skeptics

Skeptics is an album that shows the maturity of a musical band in the same mode as the Police. Shakir's bass is reminiscent of Sting's, except with more musical range. Brady's guitar is electric and Muzzy's drumming is cool and does not overshadow Shak's bass or Brady's guitar.
Abstraction is what it implies and showcases the group's musical range and dexterity while the quick fire rapping from Shak fits it well. Strings, Look at the Lilacs and If I Knew are the other stand out songs. Guest vocalist Steph challenges both Shak and Brady to up their lyrical game. Overall Skeptics is a better album than it seems at first and will grow on you. It is musically and lyrically complex and not the run of the mill noisy, throw away albums that you will soon forget. Binger should be complimented for their courage for staying true to their music.

Re: “David Kaczynski, The Night of Arrows

If you really listen to the lyrics... Your opinion would change....He is a very talented artist and does all of his own music. This is a personal vent of his incredibly deep feelings of love and loss and should not be dismissed! Listen to his music and you will be moved by his sincerity in what his heart has been through over the year. We have all had these feelings, and David Kaczynski captures those feelings for me and anyone who has felt the pain of past love, lost love and a love we may never have...he admits that he must also change his ways if he is to love again. Again, a very talented artist.

Re: “Dick FaceBat, Space Hearse

He had one other CD out. I think you had to pre-order a book from the Mockingbird Foundation to get it, but it was some of the classic Nancy tracks, including 'Halley's Comet' and 'I Didn't Know', as they were done originally by Nancy before Phish covered them.
