Re: “The Blue Stone (Waterbury)

They forgot what a pizza is... I guess this happens a lot, but a pizza needs to rise, it needs the toppings to cook evenly, it needs to be properly "loaded." The last 2 pizzas we got here were soggy due to overloading with wet items, and also causing the crust to harden without rising. When that happens, the chance of ever again getting a good pizza disappears. Good-bye.

Re: “The Blue Stone (Waterbury)

The Best!

Well, they finally worked out their issues, added tables, and our last 2 trips here have simply yielded the BEST PIZZA ANYWHERE IN VERMONT.

It is high art, and they can be proud of what comes out of the kitchen.

Been to veritas, been to piecasso, been to em all... and this is the ONLY place where you dare get a pizza with anything other than tomato & cheese.

We are especially partial to their white pies... biodome & white license plate.... but everything lately has been spectacular!

Keep it up, PLEASE!

Re: “Positive Pie (Montpelier)

This has become our "go to place" because the pizza is just great! OK, this is not haute cuisine, but consistently good pizza and salads is heads above everyone else around this town! Also, they are keeping the place warm & comfortable during this awfully cold winter, and that is much appreciated. Every time we think we are going to go somewhere else in Montpelier, we end up here because we know that the food and drink will be OK.

Re: “The Blue Stone (Waterbury)

good pizza...still stupid.
We went back and ordered more carefully, and were able to enjoy a wonderful ROMA and White License Plate pizza. I hope they don't secretly keep those names & just change the ingredients. Came back 2 more times, parked, and found that all 20 or so seats were taken and would be for quite a while... so we went elsewhere. I find this pretty stupid, because this space could (and has!) easily accommodate twice as many tables/seats as it now has... but I guess they like to turn away lots of potential diners... or maybe they are just too involved in their "Flintstone" ambiance. Re: “Positive Pie (Montpelier)

What a difference a year makes!
I Have been hard on P-Pie in the past, so they need to hear what a great job they are doing right now. The current crew is turning out some of the best food in Vermont... period. The pizzas are at their best ever, but what is more amazing is that some of the entrees have become spectacular! The lamb chops are masterful... better than NECI has produced in a decade. Re: “Positive Pie (Montpelier)

MUCH IMPROVED!
The pizzas are now consistently delicious, and the salads are also fresh and crunchy. Tried some entrees...scallops with pork belly was a standout. Who ever the chef is, he knows what he is doing! Also, the wine list is updated and much better than it was. I like to see a restaurant going in this direction... when most are going the other way. Food: 4 Ambiance: 4 Service: 4

Re: “Kismet

done with this joint
There is NO consistency here. I thought the burgers would at least be OK, but on my recent and final visit it became apparent that there is no reason to assume that what comes out of that kitchen constitutes acceptable food. Food: 1 Ambiance: 2 Service: 3

Re: “Misery Loves Co.

Worth a trip!
Hungry at lunchtime? It is amazing how far out of my way i will go to get to Misery! The Porchetta is nearly perfect, but I also really like the other things I have tried... but I usually order the Porchetta. Food: 5 Ambiance: 4 Service: 4
