Re: “Bluebird Barbecue

A taste of the South in VT!
As a Southern transplant to VT, I'm a fan of the great things the Bluebird BBQ is doing on Riverside Ave. In two visits, I've tasted a good deal of the menu and it is all delicious - the house-smoked meats, sauces and other fare are all delicious. Standouts include the Smoked Buffalo Wings, Onion Rings, BBQ Poutine and the pulled pork. The sides are consistently tasty and BBQ for Two/Family Reunion Pack are generous family-style options for eating your way through the extensive menu. In true Bluebird style, the bar's offerings are not to be missed - micheladas and mint juleps take us back to the south and the beer list offers something for many tastes. Bluebird has always done ambiance and service well. Bluebird BBQ is no exception. I'll be back sometime soon and suggest you, too, make your way over to Bluebird BBQ as soon as you can! Re: “Bamboo Hut

Things Fell Apart
Oh, Bamboo Hut, you were so good. What happened? Bamboo Hut was a welcome addition to the NNE when it opened last year. Their offerings of Thai and Vietnamese food satisfied my cravings for hot, fresh and tasty Thai/Viet meals with flavors that rivaled Tiny Thai and Pho Hong. That was then. Now, with the loss of their once always-present chef, their service and food pales in comparison. It's a wonder, but not surprising, that so much of their culinary success hinged on one person. If you call in today for a pick up - you'll likely be quoted a 25 or 30 minute wait. But rest assured that your food will likely take closer to 50 minutes or an hour. If everything you ordered is actually in the bag, it will barely resemble the glory of its predecessor. Pho broth that is watery and flavorless. Half-fried dumplings (when you ordered steamed). I can't go on - it hurts to much to have lost so much. Bamboo hut, we had your back. We ate your delicious meals sometimes two or three times a week. We told all our friends to stop on by. You let us down. Not once, but several times. We miss the old you. Food: 2 Ambiance: 1 Service: 2
