Re: “Taverna Khione

I liked the space a lot - the colors and wall hangings were beautiful. Our server was friendly and funny but there was only one server for the whole place so service was a bit slow. The octupus appetizer was a bit chewy and I didn't love the fava bean puree but the caper berries were a nice touch. I thought my moussaka portion was a bit small for the price but the flavors were amazing. The red wine I had from Greece was also amazing. We will be back but maybe just for an appetizer and glass of wine. The prices and portions aren't exactly what we have in mind when we think of Greek dining.

Re: “Sugar High! Ben & Jerry's Non-Dairy Frozen Desserts

I guess those with tree nut allergies aren't allowed a non-dairy option? Almond milk for everyone!

Re: “Revolution Kitchen

Beautiful space but pretentious overall?
We waited 30 minutes to be seated on a weekday and then waited another hour for our food. The service was very slow but hopefully this kink will be worked out as the restaurant progresses. I will say it's a beautiful space. You feel like you're in a romantic, old farmhouse or at a garden party. The ambiance is very nice. The food was ok, nothing special, and very expensive. We had the fried wontons which tasted burnt to me. I did like the beer selections on tap. My bangkok curry was good but didn't resemble a true curry to me. It was just some rice noodles in a thick sauce with veggies. And, for $17, it was no better than other cheaper options in Burlington. The bar area is cute and this place would be good for a drink with a friend or date night but I've had my one dinner here to last me for a long time. Kudos for making the space nice, though. Re: “Bobcat Café & Brewery

Best salad ever
The Bobcat Cafe is consistently excellent. The smoked salmon and arugula salad is the best salad I've ever had. Food: 5 Ambiance: 5 Service: 4

Re: “A Single Pebble

Happy to introduce our friends to this place!
Our friends are new to the area and we wanted to show them a really good restaurant so we chose A Single Pebble. We were seated in the bar area and I prefer the dining room but the service was great as always. I always get Buddha's Beef so I decided to try something new and our server recommended the Lemon Sesame Shrimp which was served with crisp bok choy and yummy noodles. The pork potstickers were chewy and the pork was a rock hard lump that popped out of the dough, but our friends' red oil dumplings looked delicious. The Chop Your Head Off soup was flavorful but too thick for my taste. My ginger martini was really strong and hardly tasted of ginger. Overall, I was less happy with my choices this time around but everything was still high quality and I still consider A Single Pebble one of the strongest restaurants in Vermont. Re: “Pauline's Café

Glass half full
I went to Pauline's for the first time on a Wednesday evening and was seated immediately at a cozy booth near the bar. Our waitress was friendly and helpful and I was impressed with the menu and specials. I ordered a glass of Pinot Grigio which came 1/4 full which was disappointing. My caesar salad tasted fresh but I would suggest using less salty anchovies and more dressing. My scallops were a bit small compared to the mountain of Jerusalem artichokes on the side but the beets were a nice touch. I decided to have a post-dinner martini but it took ten minutes for someone to notice us and by then my craving had passed. Oh well, a last minute martini never hurt anyone.
