Second Time's a Charm
Our first visit to Pistou we had some trouble getting in and were not left with a good impression. Pistou was extremely apologetic for this experience and made up for it...and then some.
Upon our return, everything here was just perfect and left us as firm believers that this is one of the best restaurants in town that had made a small mistake on our first visit. Braised Pork Belly risotto, Asparagus salad with quinoa, NY Strip and a Pork dish with polenta were all prepared expertly and presented beautifully. Every single bite we took we were astonished at how good it was. Chef Max is amazing and very talented. He created a parsnip dessert that we loved! Parsnips. For dessert. Risky and imaginative. Our waiter John, was excellent and attentive and friendly but not overly so, which is what we like. Nice atmosphere, great menu options.Thank you Pistou. We will be back!

Had the opportunity to dine here with a friend the 2nd night they were open to the public. Even with some special requests that varied from the menu, the food was perfection, as was the service. Shared the lobster ravioli, lamb onion soup, rib-eye and a house salad along with a few creative cocktails. I was really surprised at the service level- it's rare to come across in a newly opened place and I was expecting a few hiccups. None to be found. As always (like Verita) the bar staff was completely engaged and enthusiastic about what they were doing. Can't wait to go back. Oh- and the space- of course- is beautiful! Nice job to all involved in getting this old landmark back up and running.
