Always jumping to the conclusion that it was a racist. Maybe people really want a Black Lives Matter sign of their own and don’t know where else to get one. Sorry, thought I would try to add a little humor. The most interesting part of this article to me is the man who stopped to ask why the sign was there. I would have liked to hear more about the interaction. We need more open conversations hopefully the panel will provide that opportunity.
It isn't impossible to stay 4 feet away from a cyclist. You can not pass them when it's not safe to pass. For example going over a hill where you can't see the oncoming traffic.
It would be great if Seven Days was to investigate if the old law of "Exercise due care, which includes increasing clearance, to pass the vulnerable users safely" was ever enforced.
Walter, I'm not saying he's guilty. I'm saying that dropping charges due to her not being a strong witness would be unjust. The State Attorney said they had to dismiss so hopefully there is justifiable reasoning.
Great article!!
Unless the accuser told the State’s Attorneys she was not raped this is a huge injustice.
I wonder if Nabokov was on the Senate reading list this summer? I guess that is on the edge of classy, sorry Seven Days. Just because it isn’t illegal doesn’t mean it isn’t wrong. If the Senator thinks it isn’t wrong for a 60 plus-year-old man to have sex with a sixteen-year-old girl who he had a position of authority over, then he has some serious judgment problems.
Re: “Champlain Parkway Construction Could Begin by Year's End”
I thought this was supposed to go west of Pine St. and meet up with Battery. This proposal filters traffic onto Pine St. Looking at the design this only alleviates the traffic problem on Pine St. for two blocks from Flynn Ave. to Lakeside. It might alleviate some traffic for the four blocks on Shelburne St. from Home Ave. to Flynn Ave. but I doubt it, that problem is poor left-turn design.
