Was there any discussion if the project would be able to support the TIF bonds? If not the taxpayers could be on the hook for them.
Great news! I was waiting for this store to open closer to home.
UVM is a fine institution and ranks well at 121st in 2020 U.S. National Universities and adds a lot to our city. I agree UVM is expensive, having sent 2 kids through recently (and no I don't work there). I applaud President Garimella's efforts (and President Sullivan) to hold down tuition costs. The big challenge continues to be UVM doesn't get much budget support from the State of Vermont because we're a small, relatively poor state. Just look at the State College system and how they're struggling making ends meet with little state support. Perhaps the Legislature should consider shifting part of its K-12 budget towards instate tuition assistance to keep higher education affordable for families. For those who think UVM has seen better days, I encourage them to go on a campus tour, meet the energetic faculty and get to know some students. It's quite an impressive campus these days.
Get well Bernie! The country needs your voice on the campaign trail.
Remarkable that Bernie can raise so much from small donors...very impressive. But instead of giving him $27 when he asks next time, I'm going to change that amount to $18.07! :) Go Bernie!
Well that was a quiet visit. Welcome to Burlington AOC, come back anytime!
Re: “Ferry Service Between Charlotte and Essex, N.Y., to Be Suspended”
Agree with Sandy Lewis. This is unbelievable and smacks of corporate greed. LCT should be told they have to run their boats even on a limited schedule or face fines. They provide a public service and have made a lot of money over the years from the government...Crown Point Bridge reconstruction comes to mind. Time to pay it back to the community Trey!
