Re: “Vermont Pub & Brewery

I have not eaten at VTP&B but I have tried a variety of their beers on two separate occasions. Both times I was left wanting. I'm not a professional beer reviewer, but I am not impressed with their beer. They have some very strange flavors. Every beer I tried seemed flat.......with very little carbonation. The first time I thought maybe it was a bad keg, but a year later.....it's all still the same. Flat beer, lacking any real complexity. They are very creative with the different flavors and varieties, but none of them hit a home run with me. I really wanted to love it, as it was off of Church St. and I could actually smoke a cigar on their deck, but after trying 4 different offerings, I found myself yearning for a plain old Switchback.

Re: “State Won't Ban Recreation on Berlin Pond

The DEC did a fine job handling and answering a petition that was over-reaching, at best. I challenge anybody that disagrees to prove where the DEC is wrong. If you truly believe that they didn't do their job "preserving the water", please elaborate. What is it, specifically that will "soil the water" or make it unsuitable for human consumption? Everybody is entitled to an opinion, but if you are going to berate the DEC, it would be nice to cite some specific examples of where they are wrong....using facts and not emotion.

Re: “Should Recreation Be Banned on Berlin Pond?

Jed Guertin, there has ABSOLUTELY NOT ever been a truck on Berlin Pond, at any time.....ever. That statement is blatantly untrue! Even if somebody wanted to try, it would be IMPOSSIBLE! Simply impossible! There is no place to drive a truck onto the ice, period. This is the most unfounded claim I have ever heard. Anybody that knows anything about the pond will know that this is a lie. The fact that you even mentioned a truck on the pond exposes you as an unknowing person "planted" to make comments. If you want to try to sway public opinion, at least make claims that have an element of truth to them. Trucks on the pond? It's 100% a lie!!!
