I love life! I work every day with a Carolina Dog PTSD mobility service dog and we take photos and videos in the Green Mountain National Forest and prospect. I am working now on a documentary about disability and rural isolation. Looking for stories from people who are in that situation and stuck at home with no or little social access, to bring awareness to the problem many in the USA with disabilities in rural areas are going through. My dog is wonderful, my true friend and lifeline and I could not do all of this without his help. I would have been in assisted living or nursing home instead. I DBA as Cooper Diamonds selling rough diamonds and other stones. First sales next month.

Re: “Vermont Police Academy Teaches New Cops to Overcome Racial Biases

After recent conflict with VT state police about my wheelchair and service dog and using it on my road as a pedestrian, I am sure they could use more training on ADA issues. I was told the chair with the dog assisting me was a vehicle and had to go with the flow of traffic, and no matter how I tried to explain the ADA and that wheelchairs and service dogs can go anywhere the public can, the worse it got. I left the conversation after they wanted to inspect my wheelchair. filed a complaint with internal affairs, and still waiting to hear anything at all. Stuck on my mountain in fear of having a confrontation with law enforcement due to their interpretation of the animal drawn vehicle law in VT, never mind that I have ADA Civil Rights and rights under VT law too. I would say a LOT more education is needed than is given. I cannot recommend VT as a good place to spend time in if you are disabled and expect the police to know about your rights or anything about disabilities...

Re: “Advocates Charge Vermont Is Failing Its Elderly and Disabled Citizens

I asked them to meet me this week about abuse and they said they do not do that when they called me on the phone. With complex PTSD phones are hard for me to use in stressful situations. They did not even ask if I was in danger now. I requested the accommodation of them meeting me as I am disabled and they have to 'check' about it. In the mean time I am suffering from abuse and exploitation over a piece of land I bought in 1987 and turned into a illegal salvage chop shop by the co owner who abused us. Doctor and therapist see this as abuse. I do too.
