Skirack — In a category with lots of stiff competition, Skirack has gained traction among gearheads as the go-to bike shop of choice. Whether you’re seeking a complete overhaul on an old but reliable beater, a new high-end mountain or road bike, a rental tandem for an afternoon of tooling around the Burlington Bike Path, or some new cycling accessories, Skirack has plenty to choose from and knowledgeable staff to help you choose it. Fun factoid: Skirack’s four-level shop, at the corner of Burlington’s Main and Pine streets, was once home to Ethan Allen’s daughter and survived a cannonball shot from a British ship in the War of 1812. What’s that got to do with cycling? Nothing, except that Ethan Allen’s homestead is just a short bike ride away. Saddle up!
