In these days of strained budgets, $8 Marlboro Lights and anti-smoking PSAs, you might guess times would be tough for the classic smoke shop. Not so at Garcia’s Tobacco Shop in Burlington. A year after moving from the mall to their new location on Church Street, store manager Jamie-Lynn Taylor reports that “business is terrific, actually.” Part of that success may be due to a wildly esoteric collection of vice-friendly bric-a-brac, including flasks, hookahs, cigar storing and cutting gear, and gorgeous briarwood pipes. And Garcia’s combination of fragrant, leafy aromas and easy atmosphere doesn’t hurt. Oh, and their custom rolling machines allow smokers to save a buck.
