Welcome to Burlington — and Vermont

We're delighted to have you! BTV: The Burlington International Airport Quarterly is a bilingual magazine — translated into French for our Québécois visitors — that highlights Vermont's recreational, cultural and dining scenes according to the season.

In this issue, we explore Vermont in all its autumnal glory. Travel with us up twisty mountain roads for fabulous foliage views or hop on a brewery bus tour for a unique taste of Burlington. It's prime time for apple picking and performing arts alike, so if you've come to savor the season, you'll find some tempting options within these pages.

Or, if you're just passing through Vermont, we hope this issue convinces you to return for a longer stay! Use this magazine, too, as a guide to the airport and on-the-ground transportation options.

While you're waiting for takeoff, the Burlington International Airport aims to make your stay a pleasant one. Please have a look around and enjoy its amenities and services, including locavore food vendors, a yoga space, breastfeeding rooms, charging stations, free Wi-Fi, and local art.

We thank you for flying BTV and hope you'll come back to see us soon. Let the beautiful city of Burlington and state of Vermont amaze you.

Brilliant oranges are everywhere: in the leaves above and the fields below. Every weekend from September 24 to October 16, visitors can catch a hayride and pick a pumpkin in the patch at Sam Mazza's Farm Market in nearby Colchester.

Open through the end of October, Danville's Great Vermont Corn Maze is the largest of its kind in New England. The difficult 10-acre maze can take visitors up to five hours to complete.

Celebrating the seasonal bounty, the Shelburne Farms Harvest Festival, on September 17, features delicious eats, outdoor entertainment, traditional crafting and encounters with farm animals.

Going to the movies can be a passive activity: Buy a ticket, be seated and be entertained. But for more than three decades, the Vermont International Film Festival has used the cinematic arts to spark community conversation. This year's lineup showcases films from all over the world addressing hard-hitting, timely subjects, including refugee and LGBT issues. Among the highlights are Microbe and Gasoline, in which two young friends travel across France in a homemade vehicle; Miss Sharon Jones!, a documentary chronicling the soul singer's courageous battle with cancer; and Tanna, a fascinating story of star-crossed lovers on a remote Pacific island. So sit back, relax and enjoy the shows — then stick around to chat with filmmakers and fellow theatergoers.
