Re: “Dr. Dog, Yellerkin

Scott McMicken of Dr. Dog on his favorite places to play. He mentioned Stubbs and "Higher Game"... "Oh, there’s this place, The Higher Game in Burlington, Vermont, oddly enough. It’s just this really cool venue. It’s pretty simple. They have two rooms. One room can hold maybe 500 people and then the other room can hold maybe about 1,000 or so. It’s kinda in a parking lot next to a Burger King. It’s nothing really that special architecturally or anything but maybe it’s more to do with the people that work there and the general kind of way in which music is received in Burlington – really unpretentious and really open-minded and it always feels great to play there, mostly I think on account of the people that live there. And among the people that live there, the ones that work at the club are super nice."

Re: “Transient Held After Man Fatally Stabbed on Church Street

Something does have to be done about the aggressive street people. Try working near the corner if Church and Main. These people, though clearly with issues, are drunk, dangerous. And yes, mentally unstable.

Re: “At Public Meeting, Federal Officials Seek to Calm BTV Airport Uproar

@Senator Bernie Sanders, "progressive", "democratic socialist", and self-styled "revolutionary" fully supports military-corporate SACRIFICE ZONES. And of course they're in the poorest towns and neighborhoodo, where neo-liberlistas' donations don't attraCT action. He and @Senator Patrick Leahy have sold out working people to keep the corporate donations and the blessings of their military controllers.

Re: “Sanders Breaks His Silence on Trump's Election

Bernie was the Democrats' sheepdog in this election. There's always one progressive who sells out their ideas to win (the "spoiler" phenomenon). And then the Dems gobble him/her and their supporters into the gut of the corporate political status quo. He could have done good things, but instead cozies up to the establishment. Clearly, voters saw that Clinton was not the choice for everyday people and is the penultimate 1%-er.

Re: “Zuckerman Apologizes for 2013 Remark About Vermont Air Guard

Zuckerman was right then, and wrong to apologize now. The apology is proof that so-called "liberals" in the Democrat party are just the average moderates, manipulated once again by military contractors, the "defense" lobby, and misguided patriotic jingo.

Re: “UVM Prof: Bias Response Team Threatens Free Speech on Campus

It's too bad that actions and words are being conflated to mean the same thing. Written / spray-painted attacks and/or racial profiling are illegal. Talking about subjects that *might* offend someone's sensibilities or make them *feel* something is not illegal, and governing discussion or limiting topics, attitudes, or opinions defeats the entire purpose of a liberal arts education. It's all about learning others' perspective; and "free speech" guarantees that even things that are reprehensible to some are protected by law.

Re: “Grace Potter and Guster's Ryan Miller Talk Vermont

Great festival, but for that headliner. This article shows her lack of depth and the complete sell-out her career is. But good for her, if what she wants is money and Hollywood and all that superficial crap.
