Baruth can not see the Vermont where most residents reside. He has no understanding of firearms use in the other 13 counties of Vermont. Being clueless and not looking to understand gun use in rural areas is unacceptable in a small state. Baruth represents the worst kind of immigrant to this state.
Thanks, 7-Days, for sharing these stories. We who loved Jordan Smith agree that he deserves a special place in remembrance.
7- Days reaches for the low hanging fruit and comes up empty handed. What privately owned item in Vermont could not be transferred through a private sale to another person without government interference-- especially if the buyer or seller desired to break the law? More laws do not stop criminal behavior. Let's make marijuana illegal and medically regulated-- that will stop illegal production and distribution. This author's premise is so flawed and full of holes. It would be nice if you let Eddie Cutler write a piece for 7 Days.
Moving to Stowe from Connecticut is not a crime, but assumption that Vermonters live a somehow unacceptable lifestyle that uses trapping tools employing a thorough best management practices (BMP)overview-- all in a state where trappers get permission to trap from willing landowners-- seems like a carpet-bagger's approach to improving Vermont culture. Trapping has modernized, something that Seven Days could research and write about with Mr. Baroffio's assistance, along with experts from the International Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies, the nation-wide scientific organization which oversaw the BMP trap testing.
Youtube has dozens of videos on DIY gun suppressors. They are not uncommon in any way, but now they can come out in the light of day. It's a win for people trying to be good neighbors.
