Fun while it lasted

Posted By on Fri, Jul 1, 2005 at 5:07 PM

VT Politics  is closing shop. For six weeks or so, the anonymous scribes, known only as "we are insiders and you'd never guess," served up sometimes stale but often salacious gossip about statewide politics. Honestly, I'll miss 'em. They gave me something to write about — you can access the VT Politics flame wars via the 802 May archives .

As for why they've chosen to depart, they offer only this explanation: Due to a threat made against one of our family members, we feel the need to stop posts. We will see what the future holds.

Indeed. Thanks, Morgan , for the tip. I guess that makes Politics VT Vermont's defacto king (queen?) of anonymously posted politco news.

Since 2014, Seven Days has allowed readers to comment on all stories posted on our website. While we’ve appreciated the suggestions and insights, the time has come to shut them down — at least temporarily.

While we champion free speech, facts are a matter of life and death during the coronavirus pandemic, and right now Seven Days is prioritizing the production of responsible journalism over moderating online debates between readers.

To criticize, correct or praise our reporting, please send us a letter to the editor. Or send us a tip. We’ll check it out and report the results.

Online comments may return when we have better tech tools for managing them. Thanks for reading.
