Seven Days needs your support!
Give NowIt started with some fanfare, but the ECHO center's blog is now languishing. "Your voice counts!" it promises on its home page. "Use this online journal to share your concerns, opinions and ideas about improving the health of Lake Champlain, and to discover what others are thinking and feeling about the health of the lake."
Alas, its third and final post is dated July 5. I tried contacting the blog administrator a while back, but I never received a reply.
I guess they discovered that they couldn't just build it and expect people to come. Blogs are like that. You really have to have a tight focus, a strong voice, and you have to promote it vigorously. I don't even think anyone else has noticed that this site is still out there. It kinda looks bad for ECHO, which is otherwise a topnotch institution.

Since 2014, Seven Days has allowed readers to comment on all stories posted on our website. While we’ve appreciated the suggestions and insights, the time has come to shut them down — at least temporarily.
While we champion free speech, facts are a matter of life and death during the coronavirus pandemic, and right now Seven Days is prioritizing the production of responsible journalism over moderating online debates between readers.
