Maternity Leave, Part II

Posted By on Sun, Apr 9, 2006 at 12:49 PM

I'm on vacation again. I originally intended to take off 3 weeks for maternity leave after my partner gave birth to our son Graham in February. Instead, I took 2 weeks, and decided to spend a week in April visiting family with Ann-Elise and Graham (right). So here I am writing this from a Starbucks in Eastpointe, MI. Perhaps I will post again from the road if I don't have to pay through the nose for wi-fi.

Enjoy being in Vermont, people. The rest of the world isn't nearly as beautiful or as friendly.

Since 2014, Seven Days has allowed readers to comment on all stories posted on our website. While we’ve appreciated the suggestions and insights, the time has come to shut them down — at least temporarily.

While we champion free speech, facts are a matter of life and death during the coronavirus pandemic, and right now Seven Days is prioritizing the production of responsible journalism over moderating online debates between readers.

To criticize, correct or praise our reporting, please send us a letter to the editor. Or send us a tip. We’ll check it out and report the results.

Online comments may return when we have better tech tools for managing them. Thanks for reading.
