How does your garden grow? In many cases, it’s with help from pollinators such as bees, butterflies and bats. These helpful species are at the center of Pollinator Fest, a family-friendly affair where green thumbs can get their hands dirty building bat houses, making seed bombs and learning to start a pollinator garden. Sierra Club member Judy Bellairs leads a discussion about legislative initiatives to protect these winged wonders, and the Jeudevine Music School’s Honeybee Steelband provide the soundtrack. Honey, craft liquor and cocktail tastings from Caledonia Spirits and a merchandise area featuring everything from organic seeds to beeswax beauty products top off this buzzworthy bash.
