Hungry Shelburne Road commuters will need to find a new place to celebrate the impending weekend. Vermont’s sole T.G.I. Friday’s, located in the shopping plaza near Price Chopper, recently announced it will close its doors at the end of September. The restaurant is known for its chipper staffers and trademarked Jack Daniel’s sauces, slathered on meats of all descriptions.
Speaking of fast-food giants … the fare at McDonald’s is speedy, but, according to a piece last week in the Barre-Montpelier Times Argus, patron Geoffrey B. Grearson just couldn’t wait long enough to get the goods. He fell asleep in the drive-through of the Berlin location last Saturday.
When the police arrived, the 23-year-old was arrested for drunk driving: His BAC was twice the legal limit.
