Side Dishes: Burlington loses its gay bar again — for now

Published May 27, 2009 at 4:54 a.m.

Last February, Amber LeMay of the House of LeMay blog was the first to break the news that the Burlington area would finally be getting a gay bar (that is, since the closure of 135 Pearl). This Monday morning, she reported that Two Friends Bistro & Bar has closed.

According to a Facebook update issued by owner Rick Campeau, slow business and the April withdrawal of the other “Friend” are to blame. Campeau’s note does offer a ray of hope, saying, “The possibility of reopening remains if I find a patner [sic] within the next month.”
