Obituary: Charles Joseph Charbonneau

Charles Joseph Charbonneau, age 62, died suddenly Monday afternoon, February 1, 2016, in the Northwestern Medical Center.

Born in Plattsburgh, NY on, March 13, 1953, he was the son of Jeannette Mary (Belair) and the late Charles Emile Charbonneau. He graduated from Missisquoi Valley Union High School and on, February 15, 1975, was married to the former Denise Lussier who survives him.

At an early age Charlie began working with his father at Charbonneau’s Body Shop painting his first car at the age of twelve. He was a master auto body technician and was still working in the family business at the time of his sudden death. He was also a longtime member of Missisquoi Valley Rescue serving several years as the rescue squad’s president.

Besides his wife Denise, Charlie leaves his mother, Jeannette Charbonneau and his mother-in-law, Claire Lussier all of St. Albans; four sons, Roger and Natalie Beauregard and children, Ryan, Tyler, Kaitlyn and Cheyenne all of St. Albans; Danny Beauregard and daughters, Ashley and Claire of St. Albans: Scott and Mariah Charbonneau and son, Devon of St. Albans and Marc and Chelsea Charbonneau and Neely and Sully of Swanton; his siblings, Jackie and Bill Heck of Oklahoma, Diane and James Martin of Michigan and Paul and April Charbonneau of Florida; many nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Charlie also leaves his breakfast friend and best bud, Andre Leduc of Swanton.

The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, February 9, 2016, at 11 a.m. from The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 65 Canada St., Swanton. Father Thomas D. Nadeau will be the celebrant and homilist.

Friends may call at The Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Ave., Swanton on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m.
