Gary John Campbell, Sr., age 60, died unexpectedly Tuesday February 3, 2015, at his North River Street residence.
Born in Saint Albans on September, 16, 1954, he was the son of the late Duncan Sr., and Lucille (Dixon) Campbell. He attended Missisquoi Valley Union High School and for 25 years was associated with Champlain Cable in Colchester until illness forced him to retire.
Gary enjoyed hunting, fishing and especially playing pool. He played on leagues both in Saint Albans and Burlington Gary loved being around and helping his many friends. He also enjoyed attending the NASCAR races with friends in Louden, New Hampshire.
He leaves two sons, Gary John Campbell, Jr., and Michael Campbell; three brothers, Robert Campbell, Sr., and his wife Arlene, Harold Campbell and Duncan Campbell and his wife Joyce; five sisters, Marjorie Lafontaine, Jackie Sherry, Norma Parah and husband Wayne, Rose Anthony and Sandra Conger and husband Eric; numerous nieces nephews, great nieces, great nephews and many friends.
Besides his parents Gary was predeceased by a sister, Pauline; brother, Duncan Jr., and a brother-in-law, Robert Anthony.
A Funeral Service will be held Friday February 13, 2015, at 6 p.m. from The Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Avenue, Swanton. The Reverend John H.D. Lucy will officiate. Interment will take place in the spring at the Campbell family lot in Riverside Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. Following the Service there will be a gathering for friends and family at the VFW in Swanton from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
