Rosemarie “Rose” Provetto, aged 90, died at her home in Ferrisburgh, VT on Saturday, February 6, 2016.

Born June 10, 1925 in Bronx, NY to Salvatore and Josephine (Militello) Tardibono, she attended Public School 40 and graduated from Herman Ridder High School in 1943. After graduation she worked as a Licensed Practial Nurse for a neighborhood physician, Dr. Lowy. On June 15, 1946 she married Joseph Provetto, remained a Bronx resident until 1979 when she moved to Thornwood, NY after raising her family. She retired and moved to Vermont in 1996.

She was an active member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Charlotte, VT and was a volunteer at the Vermont Respite House in Williston. She is a current member of St. Peter’s Parish in Vergennes.

Rosemarie is survived by her husband of 69 years, Jospeh Provetto of Ferrisburgh; six children and their spouses, Patricia Pollock & Alan of Chappaqua, NY, Joseph Provetto, Jr. & Pamela of New York, NY, Rosemarie Provetto of Ferrisburgh, VT, Salvatore “Sonny” Provetto of Starksboro, VT, Giles Provetto & Tina of Mound, MN and Joann Aponte & Carlos of Nesconset, NY; seven grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at 11:00 am in St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church in Vergennes, VT. Burial will be at a later date in New York. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm in the
