Susan Hakey

Mrs. Susan Hakey, age 65, passed away Monday morning, November 21, 2016, at her home. She was born March 29, 1951, in Swanton, daughter of the late Abraham Tatro, Sr. and Dorcas (Jerry) Tatro. September 26, 1968, she married Allard Hakey. Susan spent her life caring for her family, and will be remembered for her love of children. There wasn’t a child in the neighborhood, that didn’t know where her candy drawer was.

Susan is survived by her husband Allard “Butch” Hakey, her children, Timmy Hakey, Michael Hakey, and Peggy Hakey and her companion Jimmy Putnam, all of St. Albans. She also leaves her sister Peggy Wimble and her husband Richard of Fairfax, brother Richard Phillips and his wife Shelley of St. Albans, her half-sister Pauline Tatro of Swanton, and her half-brothers Abraham Tatro of St. Albans, and Leon Tatro of Vermont. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her son Steven Hakey, her sister Bonnie Tatro, her brothers Abraham Tatro, and Allan Phillips, a half-sister Linda Tatro, and a half-brother Bruce Tatro.

At Susan’s request there will be no funeral services. Memorials may be sent in her memory to the American Cancer Society, 55 Day Lane, Williston, Vermont 05495.
