After a full year of highlighting the works of local musicians, club promoters, DJs and producers, we thought it would be enlightening to learn what some of those same people picked as their favorite albums of 2017 — for both local and nonlocal releases. So we asked them. We also asked them to tell us their favorite tracks from each record — which might serve as a good entry point for new listeners. Here's what they told us.
