Re: “St. Albans Brutality Case Shows Limits of Police Accountability Law

Yeah she kicked him in response to being shoved into the wall. That was the first assault and what she did was self defense.

Re: “St. Albans Brutality Case Shows Limits of Police Accountability Law

I watched that video. Yes, she kicked him but there was no measured response. Instead I saw a man haul off and belt a handcuffed woman in the face. It was a purely visceral and not a professional, reaction.

Re: “Sanders' Senate Attendance Dwindles as Campaign Heats Up

Are you really suggesting that Bernie is trying to make the Senate work by running for President? That's a laffer. There are plenty of ways Bernie could work against legislative gridlock WITHOUT running for President.

He's not running for President to improve the Senate. He's running for President because his monstrous ego demands it.

Re: “Tariffs, Technical Difficulties Delay Burlington E-Bike Launch

There is so much about Burlington politics and the back story to this article that smells bad that to blame this on the Trump trade war with China is shallow and simple minded.

Re: “Meet the News Boss: Vermont Media Outlets Are Rapidly Changing Hands

Thanks for the great reporting and the thoroughness of this (sad) article. Couldn't agree more with Slayton's assessment that "quality pays off." It's what 7D and some of the local weeklies have going for them. Why indeed would newspapers that are hurting cut the only product they have to sell? The sad state of the Freeps is the end result.

Re: “St. Albans Brutality Case Shows Limits of Police Accountability Law

The police are an institutionally corrupt gang of habitual liars, shameless thieves, sadistic thugs, hyper violent bullies. They tell lies as easily and often as normal humans breathe. Police are the filth of humanity, no different from pedophile priests.

Re: “Sanders' Senate Attendance Dwindles as Campaign Heats Up

Mitch McConnell has castrated the Senate. Bernie is using his candidacy to keep the issues he has been championing for decades alive and in the view of the voters. What else is he supposed to do, sit at home and let McConnell, Trump and the rest just continue to stomp on our country and our Constitution without opposition?

Re: “New Owners Take the Reins at Burlington's Daily Planet

Ian Cyr was a real class act at Bluebird Tavern - always treated my partner and I with style whenever we were there. We were thrilled when we saw him at Starry Night years later. Very happy for him!

Re: “Sanders' Senate Attendance Dwindles as Campaign Heats Up

hE KNEW HE WAS GOING TO RUN EACH TIME. What difference does it make, he doesn't do anything for Vermont, to begin with. !!! Only reason he's running again is so he can put donations in his checking account and to be paid millions again off to leave the race like he was with the first race.. Wake up he's in it just for the money. What really happened to the bank fraud charges against the Sanders that 7 days did an article on???

Re: “St. Albans Brutality Case Shows Limits of Police Accountability Law

Chief Taylor threw Ferguson under the bus saying he was more culpable than Koch numerous times to the media and last week at St Albans Council meeting. He implicated Ferguson for not reporting the incident when he didnt witness it., implied he was going to be fired for it and now says his involvement doesnt merit reporting? Koch kept his job and he was there for the punch, his camera video shows it. Why would Taylor publicly do this? If indeed his conversation was around performance, that is a private personnel issue. Diversion tactics? Are we really supposed to believe he didnt know about the incident for months? What other mistruths....

Re: “Letters to the Editor (8/14/19)

Thank you, Marc Beaudette for presenting a POV held by many vegans living in Vermont. I ask Seven Days to be more aware that not everyone is pro dairy. Vermont needs its open land, alas dairy is no longer the climate friendly way of farming. It is what the dairy farmers know so they continue to do it. Time for the Dept of Agriculture to take a stronger environmental stance and help farmers transition to more ecologically sustainable production.

Re: “Sanders' Senate Attendance Dwindles as Campaign Heats Up

That's true but look at trump wasting taxpayers money doing nothing except for going to his clubs and playing golf all of the time... Thank god he will be out of there next year unless he gets impeached! There has to be term limits placed on the house and senate but it's doubtful that it will ever get passed by the old men!!

Re: “Arbor Farmstead Practices Veganic Agriculture in Grand Isle

Hi Rich ard - thanks for reading. I should have included that detail but here is the answer from Alisha - "Regarding the chicken/rabbit manure, we incorporate it into the hugelkultur [a type of mounded raised bed])... beyond the elderberries... In addition to providing habitat, the mounds are eventually planted with annual and perennial pollinator plants, which are not harvested." Melissa P.

Re: “Vermont Dems Uncover More Alleged Embezzlement, File Police Report

It is surprising that anyone is surprised that a liberal in Vermont got caught with their hands in someone else's pocket, freely spending other people's money.
