Community support and outreach are keys to addressing this epidemic. Great work Ella and BPD!

Re: “Stuck in Vermont: 13th Annual Queer and Allied Youth Summit in Chester

Thanks for asking Chris. I've been experimenting with shortening the videos to about 5 min in length. Partly to appeal to online viewers who seem to prefer shorter videos and also to make subtitle production easier (the longer the video, the more time it takes to make subtitles). Do you miss the older 8min video format?

Re: “Stuck in Vermont: 13th Annual Queer and Allied Youth Summit in Chester

Good Day 'Stuck in Vermont' and as well to Eva! These weekly videos are an over breakfast treat each Thursday for sure. A question ~ I have recognized that the episodes have been becoming shorter in length? Why so?.... if I may ask.

Carry On

Re: “Stuck in Vermont: The Maple Guild Taps into the Big Maple Market

I visited Sweet Tree Maple a few years ago for Maplerama. Very impressive facility.

Re: “Stuck in Vermont: Celebrating Good Citizens at the Vermont Statehouse

Hi Manitsky,

Yes, I did read all of these submissions. Many of the activities required students to demonstrate knowledge of state government or the U.S. Constitution. Some invited them to explore Vermont and U.S. history. Others emphasized participation in the community. And a few invited students to express their opinions in a variety of ways, encouraging them to use their voices to advocate for their beliefs.

The instructions for that activity were: "Write a poem about America." We intentionally invited participants to interpret that in any way they chose, and they did! The submissions we received came from students all across the political spectrum, as you'll see if you pause the video and examine the entries we included here.

You can find the scorecard and all of the activities at goodcitizenvt.com.

Re: “Stuck in Vermont: Celebrating Good Citizens at the Vermont Statehouse

One of the poems by these good citizens begins: Run by the deep state. (If you pause the video, you can read it clearly.). And it gets worse. Did anyone actually read these submissions?

Re: “Stuck in Vermont: Lily Stilwell Competes in Gymkhana Ice Time Trials on Malletts Bay

"She accelerates and breaks." NO, she accelerates and BRAKES! Break means broken, you slow down with your brakes.

Re: “Stuck in Vermont: Scrag Mountain Music Brings Chamber Music to Vermont

These guys are pretty incredible, but actually, chamber music *has* been in Vermont for 50+ years already (I believe 7days actually wrote a story about this.) Mary Anthony Cox Rowell, the founder of the Craftsbury Chamber Players, the head of the eartraining department at Julliard, passed away a week ago. She left behind a crazy legacy and will be sorely missed. Might be worth writing a story on.

Re: “Stuck in Vermont: Remembering Josh Bridgman

Haven't seen Josh in a long time, but remember him well from my days working behind the counter at Pure Pop Records in the early 90's. Josh knew a lot about a lot of things and was an incredible conversationalist. He introduced me to some great music.

Burlington loses another arts icon.

Re: “Stuck in Vermont: Matthew Thorsen & Diane Sullivan, Thorever

WOW. Eva. This was beyond brilliant. I think you should take Diane's suggestion and post another Matt video every month! Mattmail. I will never tire of stories about him. Never tire of seeing his amazing photographs. I want to see them all! (Hello? Archivist at UVM or Guggenheim?) Thank you for this.

Re: “Stuck in Vermont: Photographer Matthew Thorsen Gets the Last Word

Oh I'm so grateful you made this. I've read his name for years and appreciate being able to see and honor his personal thoughts and amazing humor. Very cool. Love and light. I hope Grandma was the one.
