Re: “Healthy Living Plans Yet Another New Store, in Williston

Why didn't the author mention Vermont Meat and Seafood on Rte 2 next to Rite Aid? (I forget the name of the strip mall.) It's in the same complex where the Chef's Corner is relocated. The brothers from the Net Result own the shop - their meat and seafood are absolutely superior. Besides the fact that we always get all our fresh fish there -we special order from them all the time for family events. They are always ready to meet your needs, and are very nice.

Although I'm happy to have Wealthy Living as an additional resource in the area - I must say I've NEVER eaten one single thing at the cafe or bakery that is good. Not. A. Single. Thing. Believe me, I love to eat, and I've tried hard to like something - especially from the bakery. Conversely, the folks at City Market REALLY know how to cook, especially Indian selections. They mostly import in their desserts, but their two pieces of loaf cake for $1.99 is the best deal in town. My favorites are apple apricot and lemon poppyseed.

Thanks for the reminder so I can swing by and stock up at Natural Provisions on Harvest Lane. Our community needs to make an effort to support the good guys or one day we'll look around at all the bad guys surrounding us and wonder what the heck happened to the neighborhood.

The thought of Wealthy Living wrapping its tentacles tighter around us gives me indigestion.

This author really should reach out to the 6 former Healthy Living employees who brought up some serious concerns on Reddit.

Re: “Perky Planet Coffee Now Serving in Burlington

I love this place so much! Stopped in for a latte, they are super friendly, the latte was excellent, and I love that I can walk away with my morning drink knowing that my money is helping others. Just go! Lets keep these people thriving, they deserve it!

If Bud Wilson was involved in renovating the space, it's going to be stunning. Bud's architectural sensibility is pure genius...

Re: “Whirligig Brewing Plans a Spring Opening in St. Johnsbury

What I do not understand as the nation finally realizes that wheat barley and rye are not food for people and that they are single worst "foods" and by extension not even useful to make alcohol. Vermont seems to be home to new breweries opening every six months. This is the state that claims to have great health care and they need it as there seems to be no end to taking advantage of the people who haven't yet figured out their health sucks because of shitty food by all means lets keep taking advantage of peoples lack of knowledge of the crappiest most addictive "food" like wheat barley and rye. No offence to these people but find something else to sell other than beer.

I hope they offer something other than sours and murky gross "juice bomb" IPAs.

Re: “Taco Gordo Opens in Burlington's Old North End

This is gentrification. Where a bottle redemption center that served the low income members of the community once stood, is another restaurant geared towards college educated residents, in another building owned by Redstone, as the Old North End becomes just as expensive as the rest of the city.

Re: “Taco Gordo Opens in Burlington's Old North End

There are also lots of Fat Taco restaurants around the country. It's always good to do a quick internet search before naming your establishment so people can find it easily.
