Re: “Friend's Nepali Restaurant Comes to Winooski; Mr. Shawarma Closes in Essex Junction

I saw Ram yesterday and was delighted to hear that he was running his own restaurant. I realized his passion for food when he was helping me buy peppers at Central Market.

Re: “Smugglers' Notch Distillery Opens Bigger Facility, Tasting Room

Nice to see them expanding. Im wondering what has happened to Green Mountain Distillers they seem to be stuck in their 24000 square foot building with no place to grow. Morristown really short changed them, the town cost them $168,000.00 in additional land purchase, additional construction costs and loss of access to Rt. 100.
Does anyone wonder what happened?

Re: “Smugglers' Notch Distillery Opens Bigger Facility, Tasting Room

Amusing that a 'distillery' that buys everything they make is claiming they will pause operations. All they need to do is change the shipping address for the totes full of neutral grain spirits that are produced out of state. Buy Vermont!

Re: “Bove's Launches Monthly Pop-Up Dinners in Milton

Just a reminder that the Boves are predatory landlords. Even if our elected officials are friendly with them and take their campaign contributions, we shouldnt tolerate their business practices that prey on vulnerable and low income Vermonters. You can read a bunch of stories from real Vermonters at

Boycottboves.com.

We hope youll join us in boycotting this event and all Bove products until they fix up their predatory business behavior.

Re: “Malletts Bay Diner & Bakery Announces September Closure

If our visit in early August was any indication, the rude waitstaff may have had something to do with it. Although only 1 other table was occupied, the older woman server (btw not the owner, who has always been very friendly) refused to allow us (in our late 60s) to be seated with our 5 yr old grandson while waiting for 2 others to join us (who happened to arrive within 5 minutes anyway) telling us that we may be taking up valuable table space they needed, forcing us to wait on counter stools or standing. If this was typical of their service no wonder people stayed away. A shame some waitstaff don't understand that good customer relations equals good business.

Re: “Pizzeria Ida and Little Morocco Café Coming to the ONE

the article reads as though this new pizza spot will be sourcing family farm ingredients, whether selected from italy or vermont, doesn't really sound like sysco, at all, but i feel ya.

i'm game for another pizzeria in town, we have a few, true, but none of them are really at the standards of our neighboring states. with love! :)

Re: “Pizzeria Ida and Little Morocco Café Coming to the ONE

They both sound good. Hope to hear about local and/or organic ingredients (in addition to the stuff from Italy at the pizza place). No need for any more Cisco restaurants.
