Re: “One Man's Mission to Rate Vermont Restaurants by Noise Level

I'm going to see if better living audiology takes insurance and go see them for the reasons Mr Davis has stated. This is a very great service

Re: “One Man's Mission to Rate Vermont Restaurants by Noise Level

I love the idea of collecting lists of quiet restaurants! I also suggest that restaurants not seat couples next to large parties.

Re: “One Man's Mission to Rate Vermont Restaurants by Noise Level

This is a great service. For any restaurant or bar in Winoosi; as well as parts of South Burlington, Williston and even Burlington itself (such as Pingala Vegan Cafe), it is also necessary to factor in the flight path for the already deafening F-16 fighter jets (and the even louder F-35 fighter jets scheduled to arrive next year). The fighter jets fly at all hours, including at night during dinner hours, and will shut down all conversation for at least several minutes. Frequently multiple jets take off at the same time, extending the noise and hearing damage. Obviously some good dining in Chittenden County but best bet to avoid the fighter jets is to go elsewhere in the state.

Re: “Ka-Ching! Winooski's MyWebGrocer Rings Up a Final Item — Itself

The Champlain mill has been pretty much vacant for the past few years, they were always overpriced anyway

Re: “Ka-Ching! Winooski's MyWebGrocer Rings Up a Final Item — Itself

"Four days earlier, it was a different scene on the fifth-floor offices at the Champlain Mill. No one was at the receptionist's desk, and the place looked all but abandoned. Downstairs, the game room was locked and dark. But there was enough light streaming in through the windows to see that the idle Ping-Pong table had accumulated a thin layer of dust."

Uhhh...because we were all out partying.

@ Roy,

You might find that not everyone who develops a successful business and makes money is personally cheating you out of anything.

I like capitalism . It feeds the sponges who get to gripe about it .

Re: “Iconic Tech Firm MyWebGrocer to Be Bought by Florida Company

It would be interesting to know how much, if any, of Vermont taxpayers money went to this company over the years either through tax breaks or small business development incentives.
As for there being no planned job losses, well thats more than likely a lie. These Vermont companies always sell out and always state that there will be no job losses but of course, there always are.
This sale has noting to do with serving customers better and has everything to do with making a buck. Why do they feel the need to lie about it?

Mi9 is based out of Florida, which means they don't want to pay any taxes, so you can kiss these jobs good-bye.

Ain't "capitalism" wunnerful?

Re: “Fake Leahy Comment to FCC Decries Net Neutrality

@Scott - It does not make the comment less fake. It DOES however, illuminate the fact that a politicians words and their FEC filings often tell two different stories.

Take, for instance, TJ Donovan. He says the right things about opiate addiction and how he wants to take positive steps to reduce opiate dependence in Vermont. However, if you look at his campaign finance filings you'll see maximum gifts from PHRMA (the super PAC for companies including Purdue, the maker of oxycontin), Eli Lilly and Co, and the Retail Pharmaceutical Association. We all know these companies aren't on the right side of the opiate issue, so why does TJ accept their contributions?

Another instance, Phil Scott talks a decent game about combating climate change, but some of his top donors are Skip Vallee, VT Gas employees and other folks whose bread is buttered by the fossil fuel industry.

This is far afield from fake FCC comments, but this could be a great time to discuss the wide gap between a politician's statements and who they take money from.

Oleander, does that make the comment any less fake?

"I can pretty much guarantee that the big ISPs are behind these fraudulent comments"

Maybe. What is the basis for your guarantee?

Re: “Fake Leahy Comment to FCC Decries Net Neutrality

I can pretty much guarantee that the big ISPs are behind these fraudulent comments and that they will be used to "justify" demolishing the internet as we know it.

Thank you SevenDays for not needlessly playing into the hysteria and lazy media narrative that these are Russian generated comments.
