Re: “Backstory: Most Managed Story

I think it is an open question whether Phil Scott manages Jason Gibbs OOOOR if Jason Gibbs manages Phil Scott - More investigation may be in order Paul.

Re: “Backstory: Most Annoying Editor

Happy New Year kickoff with Seven Days patting themselves on the back for a Governor whose indicators, to anybody watching closely, was embracing policy positions only held by democrats/progressives the previous year plus.

Color you guys surprised, this conservative wasn't.

Re: “Backstory: Most Hostile Reception

Wow...her actions do NOT represent all republicans...as someone who has attended both party meetings its in both parties...depending on topics being discussed!

Re: “Backstory: Most Hostile Reception

Unreal. Unfortunate. Does she not believe in democracy, The Constitution and the right to a free press? What exactly was her objection, anyway?

Re: “Backstory: Most Hostile Reception

Nedde seems to have an issue with public accountability. What is her platform, and why would she want to hide it from the public by forcing reporters out of a public event?

Re: “Words of Wisdom: Seven Days' Commenters Both Trolled and Consoled in 2018

Thanks to my Big Fireworks endorsement I can finally buy that Goddard College degree I always wanted. And I owe it all to Seven Days.

Re: “Backstory: Most Annoying Editor

Oh, yes, and we also have learned that Hillary Clinton and others ran a child-sex ring out of a pizza shop in Washington, DC in 2016.

For god's sake.

Re: “Backstory: Most Annoying Editor

We have learned that the Parkland school shooting was in Broward County, Florida, Debbie Wasserman's Shultz district, and home to the most corrupt deepstate criminals on Earth. So 7Daze took the bait and obediently ran with the story to influence gun legislation in Vermont. Way to go guys. Great that you are being run out of meetings by those who value our Constitutional protections. The coming indictments, trials, and incarcerations (even executions) will be a much appreciated correction to the Communist liberal presstitutes.

Re: “Backstory: Toughest Question I Had to Ask

What a crock. This story isn't about understanding disability, it's about Molly Nash's inability to make this story about anything other than herself.

Love the stories behind the stories . Great job 7D .

Re: “Words of Wisdom: Seven Days' Commenters Both Trolled and Consoled in 2018

How about a third option . It doesn't matter whether Sanders loves or hates 7D , if he grovels to or bans this publication . What matters is that he continue to be reported on from a local perspective . And yes he has thin skin but I don't care .

Re: “Back Story: Most Memorable Interview

Francis and Simon's story made me tear up when I first read it . And it did it again . Beautiful and heartbreaking .

Sounds like Nedde would make an excellent member of the Trump administration .

Re: “Words of Wisdom: Seven Days' Commenters Both Trolled and Consoled in 2018

@ lassy2

I couldn't disagree more. Peter Freyne was nothing but absolutely adoring and fawning of Bernie. And even since Freyne died, Seven Days has given Bernie constant, and mostly flattering, coverage. During 2015 and 2016, when Bernie was running for President, Seven Days published daily, adoring pieces on Bernie on their website and in their weekly print edition. They had an entire section of their publication devoted to Bernie ("the Bernie Beat"). Frankly, to me it was so embarrassingly sycophantic as to be sickening.

Now Bernie won't speak to Seven Days because Seven Days actually had the nerve -- can you imagine! the nerve! -- to publish the fact that the feds were investigating Jane Sanders.

In other words, Bernie won't speak to Seven Days because Seven Days had the audacity to actually publish news, News! Real news! News that Bernie didn't like. It's childish.

Remind you of someone?

Bernie is a narcissistic, petulant old coot. Publish one unflattering word, publish one unflattering article, and he won't speak to you.

Contrary to what you seem to think, our public servants (and remember, Bernie is a Senator who's supposed to be representing Vermonters, not himself) have an obligation to speak to the local media. Bernie won't, because he knows he has a cadre of uncritical worshippers who don't think he has to answer to his constituents.

Re: “Backstory: Most Trips to a Local Bar During Work Hours

You seem to be missing the point of why the author went to this bar.

Re: “Words of Wisdom: Seven Days' Commenters Both Trolled and Consoled in 2018

Why on earth would Bernie or anyone else give an interview to a publication that's treated him with snarkiness way back from the Peter Freyne days? Everything in this thing is commentary. Tickles me he ignored Paula Routly for an entire plane ride.*

*Paula Routly is the domestic partner of somebody, blah blah blah, who cares?
