Re: “My Gay Banjo, Sam Gleaves

"..............and the song How Many Kinds of Courage (Song for Chelsea Manning) the latter of which they penned for the controversial transgender whistleblower."

I can only imagine the crowd these two will attract.

Re: “Gentle Yoga in Richmond

NOTE CHANGE OF VENUE DUE TO ZONING ISSUES FOR RURAL BARN USE: Now located at 840 W Main. Balance Yoga is hosting this (not on their website). We plan to work to get allowance for barn use by next summer. Come help support the Williston Food Shelf. Thanks!

Re: “An Evening With Good Folk

To clarify the description for this event: Proceeds from this show (and June 10th) are towards the fundraising efforts to purchase the remaining 22 acres of land (the driving range) at Exit 4 in Randolph, which the Preservation Trust of Vermont has reached an agreement on to buy for $1 million.

Re: “Open Mic

Side note:

Backstage Pub's website ( is the worst-looking website I've ever seen. (I have a Master's Degree in a related field and work at a web design company, so I know a little bit what I'm talking about.)

Please consider getting a standard WordPress or SquareSpace template site--or really anything at all except this. These sites (WordPress and SquareSpace) offer low-cost, really easy-to-make or maintain website templates that are simple, standard, and familiar. They look much more professional and are easier to use than your site.

The yellow background hurts my eyes. There are too many conflicting font colors and styles. It's visually unbalanced. The photos don't match any of the other colors, and there's no rhyme or reason to their placement.

By having such a terribly visually designed site, you're driving traffic and business *away* rather than creating more business. It looks entirely unprofessional and is an eyesore. This is entirely preventable and can be corrected without too much time or effort.

I'm saying this because I care. You're a local business. It's cool that you offer a regular Karaoke night. I was considering going to the karaoke event until I saw the site, at which point I started to lose respect for the professionalism of your business. I don't want that to happen to the next several visitors who might have come and given you money.

(I am not affiliated with, do not work for, and do not get any money from the companies/services that I'm recommending above. This is just kind of a PSA with constructive criticism to try to help remedy the situation.)
