Re: “Dedalus Wine

Great food, great wine, but the prices are too high for the area and the pretentiousness is unbearable.

Re: “Hubbard's Country Store

Delicious home-baked goods and custom-made sandwiches offered in an open, country-lovely atmosphere by caring, friendly owners Jon and Sara Deering. Highly recommended. In addition, you'll find lots of food items that you need or decide on-the-spot that you need. A fun experience. Try it, you'll love it!

Re: “Mason Brothers Architectural Salvage & Antiques

This place rocks ! Lots of claw foot tubs, vintage lighting, stained glass windows. Old home owners paradise. The place is huge, I spent an hour just looking around making my shopping list for a spring remodel / restoration project.

Re: “Pine Computers

What's most important in a computer repair company? Honesty? Professionalism? Courtesy? Fair prices? The ability to actually fix your computer?

How about a place that offers none of those?

I brought my laptop in to be checked out because it was periodically seizing up, for no apparent reason. I agreed to a $49 diagnosis charge and was assured they wouldn't do anything more without calling me.

After a couple of weeks and having to go in in person just to show them the problem again (they said they couldn't reproduce it), they finally called and said they couldn't fix it. I went to pick it up, and to my amazement, they had done some Windows updates and were charging me $100. I pointed out that we had established when I first brought it in that it couldn't be Windows and demanded they undo it and give me my money back. They placated me with an assurance that their work was "guaranteed" and that they'd certainly give me my money back if the fix was no good.

And the fix was no good—just like their word, it turns out, because when I contacted them for my refund, first they ignored me, then they e-mailed me a short, counterfactual account of events that they wrapped up by saying " We will not be offering a refund, and consider this matter closed."

I don't expect they'll be able to fix every problem, but I do expect them to live up to their word. Please, never go here. If it's an easy problem, they might be able to fix it, but apparently when the going gets rough, they charge you without your permission and then lie about it. NOT recommended.

Re: “Village Wine and Coffee

My new favorite cofffee house
We moved to Shelburne from Milton in October. Upon dropping in for a drink last Friday I thought "what took me so long"! I had an amazing mug of fresh, strong Ginger tea and THE best raspberry, lemon iced muffin. I brought my husband in the next day. He had a really good mango smoothie. Bright, charming, welcoming. The space and the staff all exude this. It is my new favorite coffee house:) Food: 5 Ambiance: 5 Service: 5

Re: “Village Wine and Coffee

Am I really the first review? Ok, then as a wino and baked good fan, this place hits the spot. Music is a nice bonus there and the wine selection is probably the most informed in VT. Coffee and baked goods are excellent if only the servers would smile a little more - it looks like fun working there after all. Food: 4 Ambiance: 5 Service: 4
