Re: “Ani... Dr. Kashinath Ghanekar

Dear readers,

What a movie!!!!!!!!! I am amazed by Mr. Subhodh Bhave's performance, an excellent star cast, and screenplay. I am a hardcore Marathi Cinema fan and this movie was a great tribute to Dr. Kashinath Ghanekar. I felt like an old soul while having an opportunity to watch behind the scenes of my most favorite song - "Shoor Amhi Sardar..." I literally sang that song during the movie (haha!). I want to watch this movie again, but unfortunately, I am in Boston, MA, wherein the movie only ran through last weekend and Monday! So much for being a Marathi movie fan!!

Lots of respect for Subhodh Bhave and the entire star cast!
Three cheers to Mr. Abhijit Deshpande.

Re: “Pizza 44

Delish! Loved the pizza, and ordered the Brussel Caesar salad and was delightfully surprised by the roasted Brussel sprouts. Great atmosphere, better food.

Re: “Derby Line Village Inn

Elizabeth, my daughter and I went away for the extended weekend. We could not have chosen a better destination, Derby Line Village Inn, Derby, Vt. Our hosts were the owners Paula and Fritz Halbedl. They have thought of everything to allow their guests to complete satisfaction. From the comforts of the inn and its guest spaces, to the food that is by far the best of the best. If you are looking to treat yourself or another to the greatest experience, go, go, go! The area is absolutely breathtaking. 3 minutes to the Canadian border too. Here are our incredible meals. To top of the weekend, we stopped at a Bernie Sanders labor rally in White River Junction , VT on our way home. It was the ultimate weekend!

Re: “El Gato Cantina (Essex)

Every time we eat here it's awesome! The tacos are fresh and inventive, the margaritas are flavorful and unique, and the queso and salsa are AMAZING. The key thing about a good Mexican restaurant is getting the basics right - and El Gato gets it right. We love the lime tres leches cake as well. The staff are always pleasant and food service is fast. A trusted stop for Taco Tuesdays!

Re: “Hen of the Wood (Waterbury)

Hen of the Wood is our special occasion spot - we have never even had one thing that was not perfect. This is true for both Waterbury and Burlington locations! The only other place in Vermont that compares is SoLo in southern VT - similar commitment to local ingredients, attention to detail from service to every morsel of each course. Love how creative these meals are, how simple ingredients can come together and blow your mind.
Can't wait until the next visit!

Re: “The Scale Poké Bar

The food is fresh, healthy and delicious. The location is "tucked away" on a quieter side street just out of the hustle and bustle of Taft Corners. This makes it a little harder to find, but a very nice place to sit outside and enjoy your meal. It also has a large parking lot with easy parking.

Re: “'The Fabric of Emancipation'

Go if you can! This is an outstanding exhibition that asks "what did people do after emancipation" (or in some cases, escape from slavery). They built lives. They built communities, or found community in other places. They educated themselves. They became craftsmen, cooks, teachers, politicians, writers, in addition to farming, hiring out as labor, taylers, cobblers. All this expressed by a group of amazing fabric artists from Harlem, NY. This is a gift from them to us, and it should help us all see the dynamic creative energy of African-Americans then and now. I wish you could have heard the insightful and deeply personal (and funny) presentation by the original curator of this exhibit. But not too late to spend some time with the exhibition.

Re: “RL Photo Studio

Awesome space curated by a super talented photographer. Especially appreciate the monthly art series - local talent on display with both impressive and hilariously unimpressive submissions.

Re: “Peg & Ter's

Peg & Ter's is such a great addition to the dining landscape south of Burlington. The bar scene is really fun and the staff are all extremely friendly. The burger is superb, with a sunny side up egg on top. The desserts are the best part -- definitely order the donuts!
