    In 2016, Dr. Ibram X. Kendi, then 34 years old, became the youngest person ever to win the National Book Award for Nonfiction for his second book, Stamped From the Beginning: The Definitive History of Racist Ideas in America. A professor of history and international relations and founding director of the Antiracist Research and Policy Center at American University in Washington, D.C., Kendi brings his breadth of knowledge to the 45th annual Vermont Humanities Fall Conference. Members of the public are invited to listen in on Kendi’s keynote address “Racist Ideas in America: From Slavery to Black Lives Matter.” at Ira Allen Chapel, University of Vermont in Burlington (map). Free.
