    According to the Outright Vermont website, young LGBTQ people were six times more likely to have attempted suicide in 2017 than their heterosexual peers. Community members can help carry the weight for the state’s LGBTQ youth by participating in the annual Fire Truck Pull. Teams of 12 or more muster all their might to haul a fully loaded fire truck up Church Street to raise funds for the Burlington-based nonprofit dedicated to supporting the state’s young queer population. Golden fire truck trophies reward winners in competitive categories such as fastest pull time, best costumes and audience favorite. at Top of Church St. in Burlington (map). $2,000 per team; free for spectators; preregister to pull.
