Hailing from Minneapolis, pop singer-songwriter Carlisle Evans Peck takes cues from neoclassical and adult contemporary music. His flair for dramatics saturates his bold tunes with a near operatic quality. Somber orchestral pieces, some presented as wordless meditations, dominate his debut album, Electric Porcelain. Painstakingly crafted string arrangements support the primarily piano-led songs. The album’s name parallels the artist’s fierceness and delicate sensibilities. It seems to say, “I’m powerful, but handle with care.” Peck performs on Wednesday, August 28, at Radio Bean in Burlington. at Radio Bean in Burlington (map). free.
