    Stormdrain Mural Project

    Rethink Runoff is accepting storm drain mural design concepts for a stormwater awareness campaign that will take place on October 10 in Winooski.     In October 2015, a fire destroyed the Townshend glassblower’s historic barn at Taft Hill Farm. From the loss — which included livestock — and wreckage came a new body of work. Created in mourning, DuGrenier’s “Out of the Ashes” series blends the charred metal remnants of farm fixtures and equipment with exquisite forms of dripping clear glass. Known for art glass and high-end commissions (such as for the Ritz Paris and Tiffany & Co.), this work is a stark departure from the artist’s usual aesthetic.
