In October 2015, a fire destroyed the Townshend glassblower’s historic barn at Taft Hill Farm. From the loss — which included livestock — and wreckage came a new body of work. Created in mourning, DuGrenier’s “Out of the Ashes” series blends the charred metal remnants of farm fixtures and equipment with exquisite forms of dripping clear glass.
