TEEN, Miles Francis, HNRY FLWR, DJ Disco Phantom

TEEN, Miles Francis, HNRY FLWR, DJ Disco Phantom

    Tools

    Tue., June 19, 8:30 p.m.

Composed of Boshra AlSaadi and sisters Katherine, Lizzie and Kristina “Teeny” Lieberson, Brooklyn-based indie band TEEN construct curiously askew tunes with dance-pop sensibilities. The Liebersons’ late father, Paul, was a renowned classical composer, which may explain the symphonic influence all over the group’s material. Sweeping arpeggios, choral harmonies and heavy use of counterpoint recall the refinement and elegance of classical music. The quartet combines these elements with dance beats and raging synthesizers, resulting in mind-bending melodies and compositional oddities that feel totally of the moment. Catch TEEN on Tuesday, June 19, at the Monkey House in Winooski. Miles Francis, HNRY FLWR and local vinyl guru DJ Disco Phantom add support. at Monkey House in Winooski. Chittenden County (map). $10.
