    In her artist’s statement for this group exhibition at the Vermont Arts Council’s Spotlight Gallery, Hannah Morris says she wants to “trigger your memory,” suggesting that “vision is shaped by thousands of remembered moments.” That’s one approach to a show defined by the artists’ personal responses to life and the natural, spiritual and digital worlds. Their mediums, however, differ radically, ranging from fiber to frottage, painting to collage. The seven women work at the broad front lines of Vermont contemporary art. In addition to Morris they include Mary Admasian, Alisa Dworsky, Karen Henderson, Evie Lovett, Janet Van Fleet and Kristen M. Watson. at Spotlight Gallery in Montpelier. Barre/Montpelier (map).

    Dee Christie is a member of the Milton Artists’ Guild and the Vermont Handcrafters Association. On her website she declares, “I love art, I teach art and I create art.” Some of the fruits of her passionate pastime are on view at Cheshire Cat boutique. Repurposing old books as “journal art,” she fills their pages with painting, drawing and collage. Accompanying Christie’s works are those of fellow handcrafter Robin Leone. Her métier, though, is sartorial. Under the brand Robin’s Hoods, Leone fashions felted merino-wool hats in whimsical, one-of-a-kind styles. at The Cheshire Cat in Montpelier. Barre/Montpelier (map).
