So, what about sexual harassment being written into law and SOP for families?
What does the Legislature do now about the fact that family laws were and are presently being passed that were designed and acted upon by a dysfunctional group plagued with male privilege and sexual abuse? Laws were lobbied under the propaganda that men and women are equal. Stakeholders with vested interest fill the void created by the chaos to claim best interest for the children who suffer the results from these 'high conflict' couples. Women and children are being timewarped out of our own protective laws and into abuse and self-fulling prophecy funding. All other families are paying the price having to be constricted to models that don't serve their families best.
#MeToo is not DV. Women who are #-ed do not have a repetition compulsion. Men have the repetition compulsion. That is why women didn't coin the term.
A man using his income and status to overwhelm a women in order to take her child is not leveling the playing field; it is sexual harassment. It is not a man's right to take custody of a mother's child, nor is it in the best interest of the child to use what we know about child development as weapons in the war against women. Women's voices are being supplanted with supplemental funding and it is creating a hostile environment for us in our own homes, families, communities, and ironically, in our StateHouse.
If we want to educate men about #MeToo, start with what our sons are witnessing happening to their mothers after they say, 'No".
Women don't have Equal Rights. Men are created equal, but societies, cultures, families, relationships, opportunities, strengths, abuses, and women are not. The importance of the service that the VCW serves can't be understated, and your comment actually provides the foundation for that argument.
When only a few members of an oppressed group hold positions of authority, then they are not necessarily able to make great change, and actually can hold others of their own group in subjugation in order to conform. That is well documented social science. So, seeing women in leadership positions doesn't mean that things have changed for women, or men.
Mensrights movements have proposed that because women are asking for Equality in the workplace, then women must be considered Equal in the home. In other words, women must be treated with Inequity in order to preserve their Equality which they don't really have. State Legislatures in the Country are being taken hostage by semantics, passing laws that reverse engineer this insidiously abusive paradox. A few men are handing women's equality to us with a smirk that strips our liberty and punishes our autonomy that they profess to be promoting.
So, when honorable men and women speak out, help champion the women and children in our families and communities, we can put the focus back onto local control and won't need the same level of supplemental programs. Send word to the Legislature and the Governor to take care with the family laws they pass this year. Laws may not be able to prevent abuse, but they do legalize blueprints for abuse that pave the path into funding. So, all taxpayers are paying for a few men to have the right to legally #.
Re: “Woman on the Rise: Becca Balint's Ascent From Stay-at-Home Mom to Senate Majority Leader”
I find the title of this article to be inconsistent with its content. Liberation is about supporting individual choices and freedom of thought. It is misogynistic to place a hierarchy of value on women's choices. Is feminism simply the compliance with misogyny disguised as 'empowerment'? We need to be sure that we are protecting and celebrating our citizenship without doing to each other what we are demanding not be done to us.
