Re: “Pay Raises for UVM Medical Center Administrators Anger Nurses

I stand with Nurses! Therefore I will make sure to have testing, appts made who have "no" affiliation with UVM! I urge others to do the same. Without Nurses there is no need for those overpaid buffoons, support our Nurses as our Nurses support out economy by living, shopping and raising their families here in our state!

Re: “Walters: Hallquist Enjoying Flood of Media Attention After Primary Win

Now is the time to change our laws for contributions to campaign financing! To be sure donations will be pouring in from other states to help with the campaign! Yet we as US citizens consistently help other countries oust or elect officials, yet complain when allegations are focused on another country influences our different in state elections...all monies need to be from " residents" within this elected official will ever make a stand and do everything in his - her power to make sure contributions are from in state residents! Phsssss! Another fiasco on the horizon in the Dems corner!

Re: “Solid Waste or Chicken Feed? Regulatory Change Riles Farmers

Farm to table.....table to farm! That should be their slogan! Seagulls, flies etc are an essential part of life in and around farms. Anyone growing up on a farm or working on a farm know this!
Where I grew up its the farmers who donated land for schools not the influx of people moving to the country because our towns are better living then the cities! ANR has no right in this niche farmers created years ago, and that are once again stepping up to help our towns and cities with our growing problem. I just hope Anson has the gumption to make a stand rather then pussy-footing around! Kudos to the farmers!

Re: “High E. Coli Levels Force Closures at Two Burlington Beaches

In September 2011, after a 30-day public comment period, EPA issued a second ESD modifying the remedy. For nearly ten years, the groundwater plume beneath the site was stable. However, since 2008, increases in benzene concentrations in groundwater samples along with the intermittent presence of measurable accumulations of coal tar in several monitoring wells indicate that additional containment is needed. To protect Lake Champlain from potentially being impacted by the migration of contaminated groundwater and coal tar left on site, a 200-300 foot long vertical barrier and passive recovery wells were installed during 2012 - 2013.

So...have people forgotten that Pine Street Barge Canal is the "location" of a massive " superfund waste clean up site"? Excessive runoff at the rate this water was to have flowed will have created issues greater then just stormwater runoff! The EPA needs to step in and fine the hell out of Burlinton! Enough is enough! Get off your backside Miro!

Re: “Vermont's School Merger Plan Gets Mixed Reviews

Its becoming increasingly clear that our votes and voices do not matter. This was a bad idea from the start, first when the state went to numerous towns and told them their building s were not acceptable, these towns then built new schools only to be told a year later after completion that it needed to close because lack of students which then forced towns to either close their school or come up with "creative" ways to help offset their cost. Rising and uncontrollable special ed costs with no oversite has continued to cripple schools , rising busing costs, lack of local control and not having an equal amout of board members are even greater concern for parents, not to mention the extra time our children are bussed to other schools , earlier pick ups and drop offs create havocs on families already struggling to stay afloat... This state is becoming more and more obsessed with removing our rights as voters!

Re: “Committed: A Son's Mental Illness, a Father's Fight

So sad, this is why I became my daughter's guardian. The road we travel is hard , navigating the state and other agencies . I fight daily as some "well meaning" agencies can and will exploit those with mental illness or Autism. My biggest fear is the future, but hopefully I have done all I can and she will be safe and well! Do not give up the fight!

Re: “Vermont Delegation: Congress Must Approve Strikes on Syria

Where was their concern when they sold weapons, where was their concern when Obama did this? It seems that the 2 men above..using that term loosly seem to play by their own rules..or should I say dance to Hillary's purse strings.
