Re: “Former Wall Street Maverick Sandy Lewis Is an Adirondack Agitator

Seven D readers are parochial naive insular Vermont. Perhaps they believe Bill McKibben forgot meeting in Middlebury Pres Ron Liebowitzs office with Helena Baillie. My call to Pres. Patton was midday. She was in China. Need to me. She does her best. Inherited a mess. Ron is weak. Was in love with CEO Dick Fuld at Lehman Bros. Dick pledged $50mm. Flaked. The issue Bandler knows well is antibiotic misuse. HARVARD MS now agrees with me. Re livestock and us. Not 100%. 98% & asking for help. The liars in livestock wont sue me. They hide. Theyre DVMs are complicit. Vermont DVMs. Names on request. Cowards wall to wall. Its worse than tobacco. Far worse.

Re: “Former Wall Street Maverick Sandy Lewis Is an Adirondack Agitator

Readers must learn what all large animal DVMs know and ours in VT said and do: grassfed / grain finished with tetracycline is the standard. It means antibiotic fed orally. That sickens cattle and humans. Anaplasmosis in cattle is endemic in the nation. No farm tests each & treats by needle only the sick. One sick, treat all. Thompson of Cornell advised us to do it right. Cornell advises no other farm to do this. Not one. The orally treated gain weight with antibiotic impregnated fat. Bovatec & Rumensin & ionophor are antibiotic. All cattle fed these. Slaughtered at 11 months. Not ours. We carry till 27 months. James Bandler knows this. Printing this damns all other cattle. We are unique. Cornell knows this. Feeding tetracycline only suppresses anaplasmosis. By needle cures. Squeeze chute needed. Suppression assures that ticks will spread anaplasmosis. Once a field is loaded with ticks carrying anaplasmosis, the cattle must be given anaplasmosis at birth to develop immunity. Then they are treated with antibiotics in the water and feed to suppress anaplasmosis in those that are not immune. Treatment obliterates the immunity. Treatment accelerates unhealthy weight gain. This assures the vicious cycle. The farmers are trapped and the DVM is complicit. There are few exceptions. Most all beef farmers are lying. Belinda Thompson DVM knows this. Cornell only advised us to treat ny needle only those testing positive. We are unique at Cornell. James Bandler did not print this. He may not have understood this. It is fact. Eat impregnated beef, you will affect the immune system.

Re: “Former Wall Street Maverick Sandy Lewis Is an Adirondack Agitator

We erected parts of a building and donated 4 freezers and 4 carcasses to Bard College to get them started, weve supported Bard, see Michael Cooper of The New York Times, Helena Baillie, Leon Botstein for a unique form fo charity involving classical instruments. Our beef was consumed at Bard... and Compass then interjected... obliging us to sell through them, not donate... and we quit. Charles Cerulli of Bard is a Compass employee that I cannot respect. But Compass is a $15 billion British company that is typical. Ive studied Compass, Flik, Sodexo, Aramark and others. School kitchens are trapped, boards of trustees are maddeningly oblivious. When I speak of emoluments to the food service director, I speak of what two Aramark reps did as they explained in an overnight here at the farm. Today they work for Williams College... two good men, trapped.

Re: “Former Wall Street Maverick Sandy Lewis Is an Adirondack Agitator

Once again, we are available by phone or for visitors. Middlebury College President Patton and Deerfield Academy Head of School Margarita OB. Curtis asked us to host students, teach, and come to the campus speak. Those requests and those invitations are observed in the breach. I, or our representative, will speak anywhere. We will teach students, faculty, other farmers, journalists, anyone. Molly Anderson of Middlebury came with Tim Spears, and she has resisted exposure. We have offered scores of publications on point from a Vermont publisher of renown, and these have been rejected. The ostrich approach to this one is deadly.

Re: “Former Wall Street Maverick Sandy Lewis Is an Adirondack Agitator

Before she and her professsor husband came to breakfast on a Sunday, Middlebury President Laurie L. Patton sent Tim Spears, Norm Cushman, Dan Detora... we asked John Emerson IV of Ryan plumbing Vergennes, and Mark Forrest Gunther Kimball of Essex Farm to join... firmly suggesting Essex farm for good food we eat that is clean of drugs and toxins. Mark is ignored by Middlebury College. We have since identified food sourced in Ferrisburg as ripe for examination, with a decent honest man farming there, trapped by the VA in Gainesville and White River Junction, needle flowing antibiotic in his right arm, his farm admittedly awash in all manner of chemicals. The former vet asks us to host his grandson who wants to learn how we do it. Many, many good farmers are trapped by the world of toxins. Many vets are trapped by the VA. Call for detail... the VT farmer is as honest at it gets, and trapped.
