Re: “El Gato Cantina (Essex)

Every time we eat here it's awesome! The tacos are fresh and inventive, the margaritas are flavorful and unique, and the queso and salsa are AMAZING. The key thing about a good Mexican restaurant is getting the basics right - and El Gato gets it right. We love the lime tres leches cake as well. The staff are always pleasant and food service is fast. A trusted stop for Taco Tuesdays!

Re: “Jeff's Maine Seafood Expands to Stowe

Good luck, Stowe. Every time I've taken friends and family to Jeff's, one or all of us have gotten sick. They should focus on service, food prep, and cleanliness in their St. Albans location before poisoning Stowe.

Re: “No Truckin' Way! Downtown Burlington Restaurateurs Say No to More Food Trucks

"This is America," Yannecy said. "This is capitalism."

Nothing more needs to be said. Restaurateurs are bitter because they didn't think of it first.

Re: “How to Make Your Backyard an Avian Attraction

And lastly - keep your cats indoors. We lose nest after nest of baby birds every spring to house cats.

Re: “Slideshow: The Vermont Flower Show 2019

The VT Flower Show needs a new creative direction and an overhaul - it's the same boring setup every year. Despite changing "themes," there isn't a lot of daring or adventure from year to year. It's the same flowers, the same bulging crowds, the same exorbitant ticket price. They need to mix it's become self-congratulatory and a snooze fest. Looking forward to 2021's "Adventure in Wonderland" or whatever drab tulip-themed exhibition they squeeze out of the tired old hat.

Re: “Book Review: 'The Silk Road' by Kathryn Davis

The effort is too evident - making it hard to read for the sake of being hard to read. It's like putting something beautiful in the middle of a snow globe and then shaking it violently so that no one ever sees the actual bit of wonderment. A jumble of words and trains of thought derailing. Say what you mean and find beauty in simplicity. Not everything that's Good needs to be complicated.

Re: “The Unreal Genius of Entrepreneur and Inventor Matt Benedetto

I know this is bah-humbug, but with all the brains and talent this guy has, why is it wasted on puns and gags? Made of plastic... I know it's art, blah blah, but the world is at such a critical stage right now in terms of human rights and climate. Couldn't his brain and effort be put to better use than this plastic, meaningless garbage? And why are you reporting on this instead of something that matters? Mindless fluff click-bait doesn't have a responsible place in journalism right now.

Re: “Former Junior's Employee to Open Jr's Original in Winooski

So happy to hear this! Junior's was a huge loss to the Winooski community and I miss a place to get good pasta and tiramisu. Hooray!
